Any word yet on how many football fields Degefa's gap is?
Don't know. Haven't seen her on Gold for 15 minutes now.

They just showed Jimmie Johnson. Is he a nascar guy? They said he was hoping to break 3 hours? Could that be true. He didn't look very thin to me. I'd be STUNNED if he did that. No way could I come within an hour of that and we are nearly the same age.
Yeah NASCAR guy, added him to my tracker, hard to believe he'll break 3 indeed !
I like the wheelchair races, but I also want to see split screens. I don't NOT want to watch either the men or women's able bodied marathon for minutes at a time.
I've seen Degefa run for about 2 minutes total on my Gold feed.[/quote]
I want to watch each race by itself. That's why I want to have one start WAY before the other and have it finish when the other one is at halfway. You can't watch 2-4 sporting events at watch.
I don't think NBC gold has shown a runner for more than 10 minutes. I'm going to go back with a stopwatch and time it.

What stream is Shalane on? I'm on NBCSN and I don't think I've heard her.
She's on the local coverage with Toni Reavis.
Thank-you!
What's up with the Nike singlets? It looks like everyone's running for the army.

Or Tiger Woods driver shots?
This has gotten out of hand. Not even a flash to the real races r an update. I didn't realize my paid pass was for rim racing. nobody would buy a separate pass for wheelchair watching.
I'm dizzy watching it. You'd think they'd learn how to cover this type of event from cycling.
like this idea...
I think her lead is an entire Rhode Island.
Desi only USA in Top 10 - needed for qualifying Olympics.
Can't say this is the worse coverage ever, but it definitely makes the top 5.

It would be fun to be a spectator on the course at mile 15 o 16 and to lie to the chase pack of women and tell them Degefa had dropped out.
Might be fun if you are 10 years old.
Someone put up a counter on how many STUPID things Larry Rawson says.
Degefa slowed a little on mile 10 but don't be worried yet. Mile 10 is uphill
Mile 1: 5:47
Mile 2: 5:40 (11:27)
Mile 3: 5:34 (16:59)
5K: 17:34 Degefa now pushing the pace, Dibaba follows behind, so does Cherop. They get a gap of a few meters on the rest of the field.
Mile 4: 5:23 (22:22) Degefa has a couple meters on Cherop/Dibaba and about 30 meters on the rest of the pack. Hall getting dropped from main pack.
Mile 5: 5:16 (27:38) Degefa now leads by about 30 meters over Cherop/Dibaba, and another 30 over lead pack.
Mile 6: 5:13 (32:50)
10k: 33:58 (16:24) Degefa has a lead of 14 seconds on Cherop/Dibaba and another 15 on chase pack.
Mile 7: 5:18 (38:08) 20-second lead. Degefa grabs at her hip.
Mile 8: 5:15 (43:23)
Mile 9: 5:16 (48:39)
15K: 50:21 (16:23) She is 1:24 ahead
Mile 10: 5:21 (54:00)
Geez someone already updated the Wiki.

They have an hour coverage before the women's start. They should have the wheelchair races wrapped up in that time. They don't even do the split screen. And there's never a duel at the end.

They finally show Degefa again and she's in a completely different town than the other women.
There is a large group of men running 2:08 pace. They are going to blow up spectacularly.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
