Can't control the price of gas, women, or the weather, so why try? Control what you can control. Train smart, trust your training, run your race, and kick some butt! I love it when people complain about the weather. Regardless of the race, you can only hope for the best weather, expect the worst, and anything can happen. Go get it!

if there is heavy wind, the discus throws might be irregular. Rain isn't as worriesome.

Is there some weird astrological reason for so many bad BM weather? I recall the day after is always nice. It appears to be same this year.
No. Astrology is a false science.
2018 3 hours about 1800th place.
2017 3 hours about 1450 th place.
It has been mentioned before that in 2018 there were more requalifiers than previous years.
I guess running in packs neutralizes the headwind.
Or, the actual takeaway, which any serious runners knows, is that heat is worse than wind in a marathon.
I agree.
Why popsicles when it’s cold?

That's fine for you 2:50+ marathoners where it's wall to wall crowded the whole race. If you're running fast, you will be hating the wind and running alone for a good portion. Notice how more elites cratered than BQers with their draft party. Men's winning time slowest in decades, Women's winning time a ridiculous 2:39? It's called the wind.

Bollocks
if I could count how many times a forecast said rain 3 days later, heck even a day later, and it didn't end up raining, I'd be so rich.
Of course I'm stalking the weather because it is fun, but it is funny that weather.com, accuweather and weatherbug all 3 have different forecasts.
Seems like the forecast is graudally getting worse.

It looks like a tiny chance so far of completely avoiding rain. Plus there will be a head or crosswind.

Excellent. I'll pull a Yuki Kawauchi.
I don't think it could ever be as bad as 2018 . . . if it is, it will make for an even better story. Here's vid I took from the course last year with a great narrative by Chris Russell of the RunRunLive podcast who was running his 20th Boston:
Are you running? Please post a comparison if so. It would take a lot to be the same. The downpours, the wind and the below freezing windchill temperatures. So far the temperatures say 50s, so yeah not the same at all.
I ran last year and am running again this year. It was 39 degrees from start to finish, so 50 degrees this year would be a huge improvement. Hypothermia could still be an issue, but an extra 10 degrees will make a big difference. Also, it was pretty much a straight on headwind of 15 to 25 miles an hour the entire way with gusts higher than that. Rained every step of the way. All you could do was laugh. I truly don't think we will ever see it that bad again.
Now looks like low 60's at the start rising to upper 60's by the finish. Cooler early forecast may now turn out to be a bit warm!

But tailwind. Shadrick Biwott loves the forecast. Watch the video on the front page with him and Jared Ward.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
