This thread was already started, but seeing as it's Monday anything is better than last year.

One of the many reasons I wouldn't bother with this stupid race
Since when are weather reports accurate a week out?
Yesterday was quite warm and sunny in the morning, with a tailwind.
Today was a cold and raw, with a rainy headwind.
I live near the course and we have a party. Sometimes the kids want popsicles, sometimes hot chocolate.

agreed.
it's funny that people expect the conditions to be perfect and to run their best race ever at Boston in early April. They don't understand East Coast weather I guess.
They should focus on running their best race to qualify (or at an actual fast race with predictable conditions), not to have some perfection happen at Boston.
Just go out and have fun and don't try to run a PB and it would be a better experience.
But Boston makes. People. Become. Irrational.
Forecast, in the 40s all day with rain. If it isn't pouring, and it is a light rain (on and off) and not too much wind, could be a good day.

You couldn't qualify anyway. But I get your point.
The temperature range over the next 7 days is 43-62 with the average being upper 40's (which would be perfect in my preference) at 10:00am
Wind range is looking to be 9-17 MPH, that's the killer
Rain 2 out of the next 7 days.
I think the temp will be just fine, probably mid-50's for a guess, the wind and rain will equally be a factor. You just have to hope it doesn't rain too hard or too much in the previous days to where the humidity gets super high because the can be a killer over 52-53 degrees. I'm guessing the wind will at least be 10mph, but that's all directional.

writes the guy with the 2:44 marathon PB...
there's a reason why pros/elites choose certain meets and races to run fast and certain meets/races to go for the win. Boston is a race to win, not nab a fast time.
Hobbyjoggers like us should adopt a similar attitude and ditch the hysteria.

Real XC courses aren't about time. They are about competing, hills, mud, and grinding it out. Marathons should be no different.
There are only so many marathons you can run at your peak, so if you are in PR shape going into Boston, I can understand why you would hope for good weather. I would like to believe everyone should run to "compete" but what's the difference between 1000th or 2000th place at Boston. For most people most races are against the clock
Is there some weird astrological reason for so many bad BM weather? I recall the day after is always nice. It appears to be same this year.
The humidity is not a factor unless the air temperature is at least 60F and the dew point is 60F. The dew point can not exceed the air temperature so therefore it's by default comfortable. Once the dewpoint hits 65F then you got humidity issues. At a dew point of 70F forget it! Miserable.

Meh, pretty sure it simply has to do with being situated in the Northeast.
London is the worlds greatest marathon.
