I'll match you, sort of. There was no Nike when I started to run. I had a lot of Tigers because they were cheaper than adidas or Puma and there was nothing else. So Tiger/Asics was always what I thought of when I needed shoes. The early Nikes were the same shoes as Tigers were anyway and while I did get some Nikes, I preferred Tigers because I never liked the look of the Swoosh and because Tigers always came in plastic bag, the "Tiger" bag inside the box. You had to see one to appreciate it.
I did once get some freebies from Brooks so I got into some their models ages ago. And while I've had plenty of Nikes over the years, no models really stood out. My favorite would have maybe been the Skylon if I'd gotten a pair where the outer sole didn't detach after a couple runs.
