Millions of viewers watching Millrose, huh?

Remember when there wasn't a series of a dozen high-paying international meets during that started in May? Remember when there wasn't a world championship in October to think about?

Times have changed. Millrose is a dinosaur. If any talent at all comes in ready to race in peak form in early February, consider it a treat and then get back to your Matlock reruns. Indoor comes secondary to outdoor, with its full program of events and big stadiums. Athletes get this, even if you don't.

Millrose had a 0.9 TV rating last year, which put it right at a million viewers. How many did you think it had? This isn't the WAC Championships on WAC TV.

Nevertheless, a pro runner doesn't have to be in "peak form" to beat a bunch of collegiate runners. Besides, Centro won World Indoors and then the Olympics. Don't want to hear about peaking for two seasons.

How does running fast at a meet in February preclude you from running fast in May or October? There's plenty of downtime in between.

Chill out. It’s indoor. A lot of people do not care about indoor. I’m a huge track fan, I make it a point to attend the Olympic trials every 4 years, yet I haven’t watched an indoor meet in probably over a decade; I don’t know any of my running friends who do.
