Nah, they pretty much suck. I can't imagine they'll be around too long. They'll probably go the way of Pony, Pro Specs, Lotto, and Converse and just quietly go back to making baseball cleats for Ichiro Suzuki.
Asics DS Trainer - for me an excellent shoe, light, quick and modestly supportive.
One drawback of Asics shoes is that the midsole is ergonomically profiled and includes an arch support - this fouls orthotics and upsets the prescription: Best avoided if you use orthotics.
I train in Gel Magic Racers. Love them.

Asics has already been around a long time...although not necessarily by that name (ie: Tiger or something, someone correct me here) so I have doubts they'll go the way of converse, pony, etc. any time soon.
As for the shoes themselves, I have had nothing but good luck in both their trainers (predominantly DS Trainers) and their spikes (LD's and High Jump) over the last nine years. So I would say that if you like their trainers, the spikes and flats would probably suit your feet as well.
I doubt that Asics will go the way of Pony, Lotto, Converse, etc... I work for a group of major running stores in Texas and Asics is by far our #1 selling line of shoes. All total, our stores combined sell several thousands pairs of Asics each month, no other shoe company comes close. The women's 2100 is by far the biggest seller we have. As a total line, no other shoe company can match them. I say this and I don't buy Asics, I wear them when they give us samples, but when I buy my shoes I buy Nike Skylons. They just work best for me.

Sarcasim is a real bitch.
i run exclusively in asics (the 20 series for the road) and trabucos for trails. and i can beat anyone reading this. asics are the shits.
I like DS-Trainers also.
If Asics makes a new shoe model for Sara, what would they call it? I've got an idea: the "Bei Bible Bunhugger 5000."

Ha ha, that works on so many levels...at least four!
Ryan Hall ran the national usa meet 5k in the jasari with an eldoret plate, even though he is sponsored by asics. So maybe he just likes nike better but to put tape over the nike swoosh and symbols says a lot about how good nike's racing shoes are. Also Dobson was wearing the original vents even though he is sponsored by adidas.
Ritz, World XC - Blisters
Shay, Boston - Blisters
Bei, Hall, Dobson - Did not change shoes 2 days before National Championships. Things went well. I presume Hall and Dobson will make the change before the Worlds.
Skinny runner dude states.
