After the fall that the Tinmen had, great race by Fischer in his second half. And good to see Tiernan take the roads well.
And hey, credit where credit is due to Walmsley. I don’t know much about him but good for him to step out of his comfort zone and make that first step.

Does anybody know what the Western Hemisphere 10k record is for the 50-54 age group?
-
Korir has been doing a lot of the work since the pacer dropped out; question is, does that favour him because he's in control of the pace, or does it favour Kimutai because he's getting a ride?
-
Well people want to see the winner...not some middle of the pack elite. She can be interviewed AFTER 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.
I want to see an American passing the finish line, instead of some no-name Kenyans. And I am not even an American.
Some of us are interested in both. Considering the interviewers don't ask intelligent questions, and it takes them about 5 minutes of letting the winner stand in the cold without a warm blanket, it would be nice for them to keep the camera on the finish for a few more minutes. -
obviously I meant Atnafu, not Kimutai.

Europe? Western Hemisphere? Wow.
Isn't it? It's not something that's really talked about here (in Britain) though I would have thought that eastern Russia, Asia etc was the Eastern Hemisphere. Where are the dividing lines? -
Everything west of the Greenwich Meridian is in the Western Hemisphere, which includes Valencia and most of Spain https://qingdao2barcelona.wordpress.com/2015/08/22/spain-the-western-hemisphere/

yes, great race for the ultra guy. Probably he was in the very top of the American finishers, after Fischer and maybe another one or two guys. -

OK, thanks! So, a small part of Europe is in the Western Hemisphere. I wasn't totally wrong!
So, Jepkosgei's WR set in Valencia is also the women's Western Hemisphere Record (not Kosgei's run today).
I don't think Hemisphere records are going to catch on somehow! -

So the London Marathon starts in the Eastern Hemisphere and ends in the Western Hemisphere. Does that count as the Western Hemisphere marathon record? -

I’m honestly sick of hearing about how bad coverage is during races. This was a non-major marathon with a free live stream and uninterrupted cameras on the leaders throughout the race.
Complaining on here after literally every road race accomplishes absolutely nothing. Either do something about it or shut up about the coverage and talk about the performances (many of which were spectacular)
I thought Toronto was done quite well. -
Stinson to Tinmen, please

Delighted for him -
Since Ritz is in town and now that his new protegé Stinson has finished the half...do you think Ritz will be out on the marathon course cheering for Kara?

I think the coverage was great. The announcing was a bit amatuerish, but Meb gave good insight.
Just saw the cowboy hat given to Korir, loved it. Suprised it didn't have some indication it was the winner of the race. Like a medallion on it.

BLACK PAGE FOR WALMSLEY!!!!!!!
All those haters eating crow today.
64 min half for a male doesn't warrant a black page.
It usually doesn't...but given the amount of vitriol spewed at ultramarathoners and Walmsley on these boards, it would be okay with me if this happened.
Dude went for it and got it. He could have taken the "easy" way out and gotten the OTQ via the marathon but instead he chose the much tougher way to do it. Good on him. It's good for the sport or running in general.

Fixed it for you. -
Brought to you by the Brojo's hatred of Alberto...
Rupp runs a slew of 2:09-2:11 races, including wins at the US Trials and Chicago Marathon, and Olympic Bronze: slow and should retire.
Rupp runs 2:06 twice: Slow! Finished! Should retire!
Some dude runs 2:13: fast! -

Even Adam wouldn't wait out in the cold that long. She is headed for a two forty something.
