“New York Minute”*
Those songs are all old. Just like running training techniques today are superior to those from the past, music today is superior.
Therefore, empire state of mind by Jay-Z is the best song mentioned so far in this thread.
I’m not much of a U2 fan, but “New York” is one of their better songs.

In a "New York Minute" is not about New York - that saying is merely an idiom that has figurative meaning. "Visions of Johanna" is a great choice. So are "New York, I Love You But You're Bringing Me Down", by LCD Soundsystem, "Walk on the Wild Side", by Lou Reed, and "New York, New York", by Ryan Adams. There are scores of others.

The greatest is "In the City" by Wisztrock:
The best answer will always be New York, New York by Sinatra. Hands down.
This is a no-brainer.
"New York's Alright if you like Saxophones" by Fear, circa 1982.
Hank Williams Jr. Dixie On My Mind.
I'd always heard lots about the big apple
So I thought I'd come up here and see
But all I've seen so far is one big hassle
These people never smile or say a word
They're all too busy tryin' to make an extra dime

This, that's why they have it playing before the start of the marathon.
Better version.

This is the correct answer. They also play it after Yankee games
Although this gets me pumped to run in November
