You can’t have 2 categories in sports if there really aren’t clear lines. Let’s go to one one category and then everyone is in agreement.
Why even call it a "category" if there's only one?
We already have enough problems with age-cheats, and the paralympics with false disabilities, so why introduce gender as yet another conflationer?

Biological sex is as much a false binary and social construct as is gender. To demonstrate, but hopefully not to make this entire post about me, I have XX chromosomes. I also have a prostate, a dick and undescended testes. XX chromosomes don't make a person female. They mean very, very little in the end. Chromosomes are concerned with sexual reproduction on a cellular level; the information required to produce physical sexual characteristics is not carried on the X and Y chromosomes, though its activation is triggered by them. I don't know how much this will mean to you, as it doesn't give you the characteristics you may want etc. But femininity and femaleness are not carried by the chromosomes. Trans women are female. You are not. Having XX chromosomes really only mean that you're less prone to certain genetic diseases.

"{A}rbitrarily listed...." Ahem. Here's something to ponder from Merriam-Webster:
Gender as a noun is used to indicate kind, and that has quite a lot to do with anatomy and physiology, which lead to the "list{ing}" at birth on a birth certificate.
I view intersex folks - those ambiguous anatomically or physiologically or both - differently than those who are unambiguous. But calling Caitlyn Jenner a woman is absurd.
There's no one who is "unambiguous" because the whole external genitalia thing is just a continuum (NOT a binary) in the first place. You yourself admit this by admitting there are so-called "intersex" folks (that don't fir the binary narrative). But everyone can be considered on this spectrum in the first place. E.g. some "biological males" have less facial hair than "biological females"... where is your unambiguous logic then?

So why should this birth "gender" having ANYTHING to so with sports in South Dakota??? If they have a female division, anyone who identifies as such should be allowed. Ipso facto.

Because sports competitions are often split along sexual lines and because gender is closely related to sex and not, as deranged post-modern "progressives" insist, self-identification.

Sport competitions were also racially divided for many decades before the bigotry was overcome.
I think it's well known by now that the "Genetics" world is just nothing but snake oil.
Can't trust them to get X's and Y's correct, if it's only a "statistical estimate"....

LRC's "Better Shoes" gadget immediately demands a binary "gender" answer to help you choose shoes.
So why do you not expect there to be such anti-science ignorance about the matters here?

Which is more likely correct?
Not the ones who get paid to tell mentality ill people what they want to hear.

Are there even more than a few transgender athletes in South Dakota?
Are there even a hundred in the entire United States out of 325 million people?
Glad they've got their priorities, must have nothing better to do, writing a law for maybe 2-3 students, wow.
Are you paying attention? Some transgenders are winning championships in which hundreds participate in.
You are badly mistaken! How would you like it if your girlfriend/wife lost a Gold Medal to a person who in all
facets is a male!

You are correct and I happen to take medicine for mental illness. Homosexuality is a mental illness.
They knew that in the 1950s, but homosexual mentally ill doctors took it off the books.
All “red counties” should be ejected from the Union for such aggegious behavior!

Yes, mental illness is real!
From your local Bipolar individual who takes medicine and is considered "normal," by all he meets.
Lots of folks consider suicide and there are many reason. I am not saying we should not consider
homosexuals as such. I am saying treat it. What would you say if I stopped taking my medication?
You would say that was wrong!
