And when it comes to Bedford as an example of successful high mileage runners he once told that if he could have restart his running career from the beginning he would have reduced his mileage. But he also told that he thought himself to be talentless and therefore needed quite lot of mileage anyway, but not that huge amount of mileage he used to do, and had him injured several times for long periods. I don`t think he was talentless, and he could have reached his goals on far less mileage, but that we will of course never know.
