High school sophomore here. Ran mid 17’s 5k freshman year and 1706 sophomore year Xc. Ran 449 mile in track last year as a freshman.
My team is a low mileage team, and no one is interested in increasing, including the coaches.
I’m at 50miles per week now (started 1 week after Xc season this year). Planning to be at 60 mile weeks by February. Hopefully it helps with the track season.
My question is for this summer. Is there a 6 or 8 week program anywhere in the country or the world where I could run with people and have coaching to prepare me for the Xc season? I’d love to get to 70 mile weeks before junior year, and want to be challenged by other runners rather than running alone. I thought about asking to summer run with our state champ team which is 15 minutes from where I live, but I don’t think they would want to help a kid from another team. Any ideas?
