Unrelated, but there’s currently a thread in LRC called “Worst Instagram Runners” and our young hood boy Super Saiyan is getting thrashed. Lol. Guess he should quit trying to OTQ already and get a grip like people have probably been telling him.

Two things come to mind when reading a post like this. First, no such thing as bad press. The more you post about him in this thread or other threads the more you provide him with brand name recognition and foot traffic on his instragram page. I’m sure he appreciates you doing that for him. Second, the OTQ, while is difficult to hit, truthfully isn’t crazy or unreasonable. I’d wager a good amount of collegiate athletes could hit it if they dropped what they were doing and focused on for a few years like how Collins is doing. This is for the full marathon, at least. The half would require footspeed that he assuredly does not have. But I wouldn’t be surprised if ran the standard in the next Olympic cycle for 2024, assuming he continues his goals and training. Qualifying for the marathon is almost more about stringing together continuous months/years of healthy, productive training together than it is about being super talented. Just look at how many people qualify for Atlanta this year that you have never heard of. Look them up on TFRRS and you’ll see a lot of them were average joes.
If I can end with any lasting words, I’d say if you don’t like his content... don’t follow him on Instagram?.. sounds like he has haters already and you need that to get big on social media. Also, he was third in both the 5k/10k outdoors last year so I’m assuming you placed behind him which only makes the disliking of him make more sense. Hopefully people respond to this and continue to give the guy more free advertising. I myself just gave him a follow solely out of spite because of your post. Bless.
