Have ya'll seen the weather forecast? Terrible bad luck with the weather. Crazy cold temperatures coming in just for Sunday. I'd be sick if all my hard work was ruined by freak weather. Or maybe freezing temperatures don't slow some people down

Walms is not affected by weather.

Post of the day stuff right here!
I can't stop laughing at this.
Temps dont look too bad...that wind though...ugh
If you guys are not comedyrelief (aka Factoid and other usernames), see my post towards the bottom of the first page of this thread. In that interview, he said that after college graduation, he only ran casually 1-2 times per week for 9 months while biking a lot for fun. 1:08 is pretty fast for not training that long.
Well, Walmsley has been a bit less than completely transparent about that period in this life, so who really knows for sure but him. Not judging him, just saying. Grains of salt and whatnot.

I was going to say the temps look nearly ideal but 10-20 mph wind is going to be rough. Hopefully the forecast will change and the winds will be under 10.

Jim has struggled with poor weather conditions. See: 2018 UTMB.
I hope he can put up a decent time.

Right, the wind would be more of a problem. Ideal temperature for elite marathoners is probably mid 30’s.

Me too.
Can't wait. 4 days and 22 hours and we know how good Walmsley is.
http://www.chevronhoustonmarathon.com/10 mph wind is rough?
Looking at the half course, you probably aren't going to run into the wind for any more than 2 maybe 3 miles.
It’s a poor race anyway. Who gives a flying fuk. Gaylen Rupp is toast.

I think he has been fairly open about his struggles during his post-graduation period and many fans and followers appreciate that fact.
If it's windy then the shorter runners will have an advantage. How tall is Walmsley? He appears about 6' even. The winner will be about 5'5".
He should be somewhere between 1:03:30 and 1:04:30. So the OTQ will be close. He won't make the Olympic Team, though.
Big difference between 10 and 20 mph. 10 mph wind is occasionally noticeable, but usually more of a pleasant breeze. 20 mph and you hate your life, your wife, and anyone you've ever met for the next 13.1 or 26.2 miles.

Even if it is a rough wind day, at least there will be a lot of fast runners in this race so that a fast pack can form and guys can take turns up front. 34 guys under 64 last year.
I personally don't think Walms will make it under 106, but I hope he does for two reasons:
1. To drive all of the haters crazy
2. To drive all of the fan Boyz crazy
Walms on the Olympic team will keep LR haters mashing that keyboard for years!!

I thought he was supposed to run sub 1:04?
Did that change?
1:05:17- blows up after 10 miles.
I'm obsessed with Jim Walmsley, and might be in love with him.
But he doesn't even know who I am.
