Nice for Harvard to have two underclassmen go 1-3 and for them to get 2nd. Correct me if I"m wrong but I believe they'd finished in the top half of the league exactly 1 I believe in 20 years. (Update that stat about 1966 is amazing but it doens't surprise me as Gibby is great).

Correction: it was 1976. I misremembered.
http://hepstrack.com/championships/heps-cross-country/mens-program-histories/harvard/I thought Gibby was responsible for the women, not the men.

The problem for the Crimson and everyone else in the league is PRinceton had ZERO seniors racing today. And they supposedly have a great incoming recruiting class.
Let's just hope Princeton runs a regular season in 2019 where they actually run hard other than just at home ;)
Spiezio, their 4th runner, and 6th overall finisher is a senior. He has a year of eligibility left- that's why they listed him as a junior.
Also I can't imagine Vig will change these "tactics" since they seem to win them heps, and maybe regionals. Only problem is, they aren't ready to run in a race like nationals, and will likely blow up again with no big race experience.

I think they will easily qualify for NCAAs with a top 2 regional finish (I don’t think they will have much regional competition) and it is possible they will have a similar performance like they did at NCAAs last year in underperforming. But we will have to see if they can handle the weather at Wisco come NCAAs.
I think it will be harder for a Heps team to qualify out of the NE region for both genders. I think the NE region is stronger and more competitive this year.

Harvard had no seniors in their top 7 either. It should be a good battle next year.
Dartmouth as well!!!
When were Army and Navy in Heps XC and in Heps Track & Field?
Army last ran Xc in Heps in 1992. Navy in 2002.

Why are you all so sure after today's race that Princeton will bomb at nationals? They ran well and won by a large margin. Usually that's a good sign. They've got a different and less mid-d heavy team this year which might be better at handling the end of season 10ks.
