Hoka Clifton 1 is back! Not going to lie I'm a bit excited. It only took them 5 years to bring back the their only good shoe.

I just ordered a pair this morning, never tried a pair of hokas period but have been doing a lot of reading the last few days. My goal was to find the best cushioned shoe for hard surfaces so it didn't take long for me to set my eyes on hoka. At first I was looking at the bondi but was hesitant with the price and think the bondi looks like a diabetic walking shoe but uglier.. I had read about the clifton but everyone was saying that was a lot stiffer than the bondi so that was a no-go for me.. but that was probably the clifton 2, 3, 4, or 5 they were most like referring to given the dates of the replies/reviews read.
Then I discovered the clifton 1 was re-released and read the clifton 1 was much softer/lighter and was able to get it for $30 less than the bondi, I even like the looks of the clifton 1 over the other cliftons and the bondi so I went for it.
Hopefully I'm not disappointed, I guess I'll see.
I'm stuck in the city so hoka is a must. I've seen the bondi but it looks too stiff. I like feeling like I'm running on pillows so Clifton 1 is the best. All other Cliftons have disappointed
>narrow lasts
>pointy toes
nothxjeff, which is a shame because otherwise they're great
4 runs- 33 miles. Loved the original. This version is ALMOST spot on. Insole is cheaper and thinner. My solution: Took the insole from an old pair of Clifton 3’s- over 500 miles on them., took out the insole and replaced. The shoe now feels just like the old, original Clifton 1’s.
Street creds: closing in on 90,000 road miles(89,832 miles and counting) over the last 42 1/2 years. Recently turned 75 and still getting in 40-50 miles a week. Best running shoe for me since the early 80’s Nike Terra TC. I did get 550-600+ miles on the old Clifton 1’s. Stocked up this time, so if they disappear I have a supply in reserve.. Big concern now is to live and run long enough to wear all the shoes out.:)
