I think you meant to say " Shouldn't be hard to drop 30 sec" and I would agree 100% with you. I'm not making excuses they have had people on the roster over the last 4 years that would have competed for a top 10 spot at Nationals.
I am not saying they developed 100% but some of their runners did improve.
Walsh experienced a coaching change and Mizko came in and changed the program/training for the good. Had Mizko been there throughout the 2000's we might be talking about different things.
Listen, not to sound like a broken record and making this all about Malone. They have a good young team and should be successful. Malone College was successful in the late 2000's because of Matt Woods. You can do some digging and find out that he was responsible for the training. Matt was fired in 2011? Was replaced by Matt Reneker who at the time was a good high school coach. Wood's was not the most personable guy but many coaches like myself sent some athletes to Malone on visits because he did a solid job. Results were not and have not been the same since his departure. High School coaches talk a lot and believe me we know what programs have developed more with less. Cedarville being one of them.
I believe Dave Gramlich will get the program moving again. I think you're right and many would agree the perception of "greatness" is due to their 2007-2009 seasons. That credit is due to Matt Woods being the coach. They were fun to watch during that time and I became a fan of the little guys beating the big guys.
I'm done talking about their history,
Lets move forward
