damn yo ! seems that thsese days no runnners wana help other amateur runner. It's 5 minutes out of your time and will really help me out pleassssseeee????
It looks fine, although maybe you could skip week one if you're comfortable with the higher mileage.
tip--soft surfaces.
Looks fine to me. I'd just say throw in some 1-15 second strides a couple times a week. It'll help ur legs feel a bit better in general, keep you fresh, and just give those fast twitch muscles a bit of use. Plus it feels good. They dont need to be really fast at all, just pick it up a bit for about 10 seconds. I agree that if you feel comfortable you can probably drop the first week, and add another week at 70-80 on the end as you only have 8 weeks. And really, dont worry about how fast/slow you're going. its more time on your feet than # of miles. Good luck. Hope all turns out well.
I've always had great results with those 1 second strides.
its doable
im climbing back up myself...last week 56, this week hopefully 68 then looking for 70s after that
so, it's not too much?
Have you run this kind of mileage before? If so, then you don't need 8 weeks to do it. After a break I return to my normal mileage in 1 or 2 weeks. 80 is just a number, just go out and run, ease back on the intensity for a bit and you will be fine.
My recent buildup:
(All singles, 7 days a week, Nike Waffle Racers)
Wk 1: 34
Wk 2: 45
Wk 3: 56
Wk 4: 66
Wk 5: 75
Wk 6: 85
Wk 7: 82
Wk 8: 87
Wk 9: 88
Wk 10: 95
Wk 11: 105
Wk 12: 100
Wk 13: 100
Wk 14: 100
Wk 15: 100
Wk 16: 100 (Expected this week)
Steady, easy running becoming steady, aerobic running. Some x100m each week with full rest. Feel great.
So yes, it can be done and HAS been done by many, many other people.
So, go for it...
My bad. I meant 10. 1 second strides would do very little. ha ha ha. Thanks.
Where's the tempo running? Fartleks? Hills?
LSD will only get you so far.
Good plan for what?
why stop there. If 100 is good, then 200 is even better. You could get to 300 by October. Plus, you'll get injured quicker and get to take time off.
