If we're doing pet peeves, how about people who smoke just outside a doorway. Especially grocery store workers. They seem hell bent on doing so.

Yes, my dog might poop in the front of your yard as I walk him every day. I carry poop bags and will always pick it up. You give me shiiit about it and I will find some way to phukk you over. Better to just let it go big man.
You were right to initially be upset.
However, since she had a bag, she obviously planned to clean up after the dog, so you are also right to feel bad about snapping at her. (That isn't to say you were wrong to say something, just that you are right to feel bad about it after she produced the bag.)
I suggest speaking to her the next chance you get: "The other day, I think I assumed that you weren't going to clean up after your dog, and that was wrong of me. Would you be willing to forgive me for my tone?"

Kidding aside, honestly, what do you do in this situation? You are jogging down a 10ft wide trail. A group of walkers approaches from the opposite direction, taking up the ENTIRE trail. You politely move to the extreme right of the path. As you approach the group, it becomes obvious they have no intention to move. You say, "excuse me, " or "heads up" or "Briiiing briiing!". They do not move.
What do you do? Do you stop in your tracks? Do you step off the trail? Do you lay down in the dirt and have them walk over your back?
I simply keep running in a straight line.
Fellow shoulder checker here. That is one of my biggest pet peaves. I’m not your typical twig runner either and I’ve had a couple satisfying collisions. I’ll stop short of taking out a senior citizen but stand by if you look like you should know better.

Preach! I'm 6'2 192 lbs of old flabby man trying to run fast. I haven't lost a game of chicken on the jogging path yet. They always move.
The trail hogging thing. Maybe I just live in a polite place but didn’t think it was a thing till I spent a month in Europe for work a couple of years ago. The trails were a lot more crowded, most people were just strolling, not even walking fast, and they would. Not. Move. At all. They’d make eye contact and still not move. I knew how to say “excuse me” in the native language but still nothing. I ran the same trail and saw the same people all the time. Finally I said what the hell and started shoulder checking. I got grumbled at but it worked.

Not really, most people only carry just in case they get busted. If no one's there they won't clean up most of the time.

Dear OP, have you ever considered the fact that side-walks being filthy are the reason dogs prefer to poop in your kinda yard? It seem you have more respect for greens than mammals but something in your discourse tells me that you are not vegan. Is there any hint of consistency in you?
If I were your neighbour, I would get a nice puppy ASAP and let him unleash his liquid do do frenzy on the projection of your neurotic mind.

It’s always disappointing when someone like you invades a mostly adult populated thread.
When you say the owner let the dog poop on your lawn do you mean the tree lawn or in your actual yard? Either one should be cleaned up by the dog owner but I would say that the former is not rude while the latter kind of is.
When I walk my dog I try to keep him out of yards but do think it’s fine for him to be on tree lawns unless the homeowner has done a bunch of planting/landscaping there. If someone has to touch it to keep it looking nice I’m not going to let him spray it or take a crap there. All that said, I do once in a while zone out and don’t realize he’s about to poop in a yard in time. If someone came out and caught him in the act, I would apologize profusely and assure them I’d clean it up.
You might have been a bit unnecessarily nasty w the dog walker but I do get your frustration. Still, as others have mentioned, civility is usually a good policy, esp w/ neighbors.
Would have been worse if you came out your gate to find the lady crouched down crapping on your lawn while the dog looked at you perplexed with its eyebrows sort of raised.
Other than that, not really a big deal.

Hah! I live in Manhattan and experience others walking distractedly either engaged with their phones, conversations or dogs or who are otherwise oblivious. It's surprising how many people walk not in fairly straight, predictable lines but wander erratically. It can be quite annoying at times but I give thanks that I walk much faster than they do.

I'm extremely socially easy going, never honk my horn, don't get upset when someone cuts me off, never complain to my waiter, don't care if someone takes cuts in line at the post office. Who cares, right?
However.....It's insane that people think that letting their dog crap on other people's property is ok.
Oh I get it, your out on a walk with your dog and it's inconvenient to interrupt him and find a more apropriate place to drop a turd.
It's also inconvenient for me no to crap in people's lawn when i'm out on a walk. But i don't do it.

My general rule of thumb is the Crazy Uncle rule....I wouldn't let my dog crap anywhere I wouldn't let my Crazy Uncle crap. You see I have this Uncle who was in the war, all of them i think, and he's got a metal plate in his head and smells like agent Orange and smokes cigars through a tracheotomy hole in his throat he got from a field medic when piece of shrapnel took out his voice box and most of his frontal lobe. Anyway, he can't really talk much now and somtimes when I'm walking him I don't realize he has to go #2 until he gets real frantic and pulls down his sweat pants and drops down into a squat right there on the side walk.
But do I let him drop a deuce? No. Because it would be absolutely disgusting. It's feces. On the sidewalk. Or in a lawn. I give a sharp kick in the side, yank the leash and find a semi-secluded spot beind a warehouse or something.
The other day I was walking in this fancy part of the city and this nice-dressed business lady is walking this Great Dane and it starts sniffing this light post. Like a nice decorative gothic light post smack dab in the middle of a busy sidewalk. And this Great Dane lifts it's leg and she just stands there while this beast lets loose a horse stream of urine onto the metal post. I don't care if it looks kinda like a tree. It's not. That urine is not going to soak in. It runs straight down the side and river of urine floods the side walk and people are walking in it, dragging their shoe laces through it and I just thought "Man, people are insane."
If my Uncle had even TRIED to pee on that post he'd probably be maced and in jail.
WHY is it ok because it's a dog?!?
It's urine or feces whether it comes out of a person or a dog.
Don't let your dog crap where you wouldn't.
If you can't find an appropriate place for your dog to crap, don't get a dog.
