10000, Abdi, Ritz, Rupp (Downin)

5k: goucher, broe, doesn't matter
I'll give it a shot:
1500m: Myers, Webb, Gruber, Lukezic.
5000m: Broe, Goucher, Torres, Withrow.
10000m: Ritz, Abdi....No idea for 3rd. (Rupp was said to be following the Junior 1500m route.)
After the Reebok 1000m, I think Webb will avoid 2004's all-out move. With a 3:54 already this year, Myers can stay within striking distance of the lead, and will outkick Webb in the last 100m.
The 5K will be a 2 man race at the end. Torres in 3rd, narrowly avoiding Withrow's finish.
The 10K will have Ritz taking over in the last 3K.
Sunday, 22 May, 2005 (road race)
1. Craig Mottram AUS 28:28
2. Hendrick Ramaala RSA 28:51
3. Meb Keflezighi USA 28:52
4. John Itati KEN 29:12
5. Patrick Ivuti KEN 29:14
6. Mark Carroll IRL 29:18
7. Keith Kelly IRL 29:29
8. John Henwood NZL 29:29
No reason to pick Mebrahtom in the 10000m, huh? Don't know if Ritzenhein appeal into the 10000m is granted but:
1. Mebrahtom Keflezighi
2. Dathan Ritzenhein
3. Abdi Abdirahman
"hree"??
"Luchezic"??
Withrow is not running USATF Nationals. He is getting ready for cross.

I don't know how runners like Teg (in the past) and now Withrow can bear to pass up USATF's, when they're solid contenders. It's best for XC, but this is the meet of all meets besides WC's. Avoiding the best at nationals and a shot at the WC team?? 2001 USATF's didn't hurt Torres, Ritz or Webb for their ensuing XC seasons.
10000- MEB, RITZ, ABDI
5000- BROE, DOBSON, RILEY
STEEPLE- LINCOLN, FAM, SLATTERY
1500- WEBB, MCGOWAN, MYERS
800- KRUM, JOHNSON, BURLY
What's Withrow done since March???
1500:
Webb, Myers, Jennings
5000:
Goucher, Broe, Torres
10000:
Meb, Ritz, Abdi

Coming off being our top WC XC finisher and beating some good names with a 13:30-something 5K, I dared think he was doing well.
BTW, is Meb running the 10K?? He's listed as a qualified entrant, but with his early season injuries, assumed marathon priorities and lack of any track racing, I figured he wouldn't run. If he is running though, then he'd have to be the favorite, with at least 85% fitness level.
100:
1. Gatlin
2. Greene
3. Scott
200:
1. Crawford
2. Spearmon
3. Gatlin
13:30-something isn't even a darkhorse seed time. How recent was that?
Why are people thinking that Abdi now has Culpepper's number?
800: Krum, Hicks, Jj
1500:Lagat (he can run right? just not qualify?)Webb, Myers, Manzano (3:37 how can I say no?)
5000:Broe (easy pic), Torres(easy pic), Dobson (not sure), (but I hope Goucher)
10000:Meb,Abdi,Ritz, Browne
5k: i see three people contending for this title: Broe, Goucher, and Torres. if Ritz decides to race then he could threaten... maybe.
10K: most likely will be between Ritz and Abdi. should be a good race.

probably because culpepper doesn't run on the track anymore. it's easy to kick the asses of guys who don't show up.
Well he needs to get back on it, at least domestically.
In his interview right after NCAAs, it sounded like Manzano was done for the season. Maybe he'll work on building his strength for cross this summer.
