and Parsons under 4:00 for the first time. Another well run event. Kudos to Kyle & Brendan.

I am not in the field because I had surgery three weeks ago to reattach both my adductors to my pubus plate and to lengthen my psoas and rectus femoris. Had been running through a lot of pain the last 1.5 years but it became unbearabale this spring.

Shannon Osika totally dominated the women's race. Too bad there's no Worlds or Olympics this year because she'd have a shot at a US team the way she's racing right now.
Wow, great range from Ben Flanagan.
What a year for Parsons. 3:44/4:07/13:52 to 3:38/3:59/13:29. I guess Hunter is a good training partner.
If you missed it you can still watch the replay;
Sam has done the work and earned his PRs. Proud of him!
I don't care what anyone says, Corey Mcgee won the contest... Holy smokes!
Really two american's in the top nine, who gives a crap.

Ever heard of...Kate Grace?
Let's look at the numbers. Osika has the 14th fastest time by an American at the 1500 this year. Three of those (Wilson, Lipsey & Quigley) aren't going to run the 1500, so she's 11th among real 1500 runners. She wouldnr't beat Houlihan or Simpson, so that means she has to beat out nine women, all of whom have run faster than her this year. Four of those women have run faster than Osika's 1500 PB. And one of them, Kate Grace, beat Osika in Toronto three weeks ago, and has run faster than her at both the mile (4:23.23) and the 1500 (4:04.64) in the last two weeks.
There's a reason Osika finished 7th at USAs the last two years, while Kate Grace finished 1st and 3d. It's the same reason Grace is running in Europe this summer while Osika is not.
Ummm.......he said, "she'd have a shot"
I am fairly certain this is the first time a (fellow) Delawarean has gone sub-4 in the mile.

And he is wrong. She would not have a shot.
I am sorry if this is harsh. As a fan of women's racing, I wish he was right. It would be great if some youngster besides Houlihan was ready to start running fast. But after looking at Osika's record, it's clear she isn't there yet. As I pointed out, Grace beat Osika three weeks ago, and since then, Grace has run faster at both 1500m and the mile.
I'd love to be wrong, so show me the evidence that Osika's ready to beat Grace.
Will you give me 100:1 odds on Osika beating Grace then?

I think that he needs to do what ex runner did regarding Jakob being superior to Wightman in 2018.
He should pledge to leave letsrun permanently if she beats Grace in 2019 at the US champs

I'd be happy to give you those odds, except the prediction is about this year, not next year. That's why it was so annoying. He was saying Osika would have a shot at making a team right now, even though she's not running faster than Grace.
I'm wary of taking the bet b/c I don't know what I think of Grace's prospects next year. She's not getting any younger, and she seems to have plateaued. But then there's the I-just-joined-BTC-and-the-workouts-are-killing-me factor, so who knows.
My point was a narrow one. Right now, Osika is not ready to roll.
As I said, I'm a fan of women's running, so I hope I wrong. I really do.

Well this didn't age well. I submit as evidence the results of today's 5th Avenue Mile where Osika (4:26) beat Grace (4:29).

Age well? I'd say I was just plain wrong, since she Oskia beat her three days later!
