Are you also ex runner?
Are you also ex runner?
Yea, what an arse.
The GoMeb Razor 2 do not have a carbon plate. Paid $53 at Running Warehouse on discount. I wanted to try out some of these Skechers running shoes. Not too bad and feel smooth out of the box, but I wonder how long they will last. I didn't know there were Skechers shoes with a carbon plate.
Well, it was a non-competitive work 5k, so not expecting much. But I look up local results from time to time and they are laughable.
Yes. See above explanation on the choice to run in Skechers.
Laugh all you want, but I am happy with the time, was a minute faster than expected. It was my 3rd run back after a nearly 4 month layoff from injury. Been swimming, biking casually, and hiking in the mean time.
No, I am currently a runner.
Correct. It was a minute faster than you expected. But it was NOT a tempo run, you were working and working hard, admit it. That's NOT a tempo run. That IS the point the poster was making and I agree. Tempo my butt.
EYE agree with the poster X wrote:

Lol, wut. You want to win the argument, fine, you can win, fine. The intent was a steady pace for a sub-20 result. Ended up running faster and was more of a progression run starting at 10k pace and working down to 5k pace. But I have no idea about my current paces because of a 4-month injury layoff.
Ask you anything? Wearing sketchers? You think that's slick? Then I am your papi, el cojonudo, el bolsudo.
I ran a 17:30 wearing kunk-fu shoes back in 1978, you should ask me anything.

Actually another question: how much did you pay for them?

Thanks.
That's really cheap!
I heard the GOmeb Speed 4 have a carbon plate in them, a bit like the Vaporfly, I think. But I never confirmed this.

And I am sure you have many other great stories about shouting at clouds!
Did any coworkers wear fuel belts or camelbacks?
I, too, won a 5k this past Saturday wearing Skechers (GOMeb Speed 5). It was similarly uncompetitive... but just thought I'd share :-)
PS- I also ordered a pair of Razor 2s from RW over the weekend, lol.

Possibly, but I positioned myself at the front of the pack before the start and did not pay attention to the rest of the field.

Awesome! Skechers taking over the roads!
I would be interested to hear how you feel about the Speed 5 vs. the Razor 2 vs. GoRun Ride 7. I went with the Razor 2 because I was looking for a faster training shoe that still had a good bit of cushion. The Speed 5 looked too minimal and the GoRun Ride 7 looked too beefy. The GoRun 6 was on my radar, but too many reviews said that it felt like a casual shoe.
I like the Razor 2 so far. It felt smooth and I cruised at a faster than intended pace. My favorite kind of training shoes are well cushioned shoes with minimal uppers and structure and decent outsole coverage, a category which the Razor 2 fits into. My only question is how long these will last and what theh feel like on longer runs. The variety of Flight Gen in the Razor 2 is thick enough but quite firm.
Now can you do 50 of these on 50 straight days in 50 states(including Haiti)?

At my current fitness level, probably not. I might need to start a seperate thread about safe placea to run in Haiti.

Why do you assume Haiti is unsafe? Are people there more likely to rob or assault you than in your 100% white middle-class suburb of Springfield, USA? Why do you think that? You really are a sick racist mofo aren't you? Next you'll be claiming that Third World poverty stricken Kenyans might actually take the opportunity to get some premium grade EPO over the counter of their high street pharmacy, safe in the knowledge that they will be bringing their entire village out of poverty, never mind family, with close to zero risk of getting caught (as long as they pay the Kenyan IAAF testers tea money).
Or maybe you wont, because that would be...racist...?
What is anything?
What is consciousness?
Is there a life after deathpenalty?
The Gomeb speed 5 supposedly have the plate along with their new foam. They ate $39.99 on Amazon. Surprisingly for a shoe with newer foam and a carbon plate you pretty much cant find any good review on them.
I ran in the Skechers go run 5 and felt the meb, speed 4 and they just feel so anticlimactic. There was no pop to the shoe and felt flat.
Put 20 miles on them and turned them into mowing shoes. $40-50 is a gamble when you can get the Type A and LTs for similar.

Weirdo...
Jeff, I will be interested in your take of the Razor 2.
Hey man! Good to hear from you. How is your day? Any recent quality runs that you would like to share?
These are good questions that I have pondered but I cannot provide a firm answer. I am sure the robots running the computer simulation that we live in will tell us one day.
Are you referring to the GoMeb Speed 5 throughout this post? Those looked like too much racing flat for what I was looking for, as I just wanted some Skechers training shoes to try out. I imagine the plate in the Speed 5 is there to add some firmness and pop, but does not provide the same benefit as something like the Vaporfly. Also, in the Razor 2, I did some strides on wet grass and then the shoes were slippery on the pavement, more so than with other shoes. The web outsole pattern probably needs an update.
Correct referencing the Gomeb Speed 5.
The way you read the description from Skechers makes it sound like the Adidas Boost and 4% rolled into one with the full carbon fiber plate and new foam.
