I'd offer him $1000 to run 9:34 on a track this week.

March 2013 around the bay hamilton ont.30k on a hilly course 3rd place 1:36:53.Thats 5:20 pace for 18.5 miles.I think 2miles at 5:00 would be easy for him.

I would suggest publicly offering him the $1000 on his IG or Youtube so we can verify that you aren't a pu$$y.
We are all waiting.........
just tweeted at him.
I bet you are trolling. If not, you will lose that money.

LYING....
You can search his username and his last mention was yesterday August 10th.
Try again.
Guys, Lionel will post his data if he wants. He tracks everything. If this kid offers $1000 all he has to do is post his file.
I just Google earthed his course and it comes in on two apps at 1.93 miles, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt - it's not 2 miles, but it's not 3000m, but I stayed on the path. Looks like he takes some sharp corners and it is decently flat.
LetsRun has to be one of the few places that make YouTube comments look amazing. What is OP's beef with this guy? Did you really start a thread because his 2 mile repeats might have been a little short?
haha I recorded this video. I was there and saw the entire workout. lionel does not even watch most of the youtube videos I make for him. Go call Lionel out on social media. Willing to bet you he sends you a link to the gps file and workout.
Make some videos with time included. I understand this is a old clip but somthing to consider moving forward. I would love to watch he’s a beast
I agree his stride isn't the most beautiful, but he's tough as nails. He was doing 5k repeats in one of the videos and I thought he might be running 17:40, but he was hitting mid to low 16s. If you can do 5k repeats in the 16:20s, a 9:35 2 mile seems fairly reasonable.
??
2nd place Mesfun in last weekend’s NYC half kinda looked like this.
Everyone is full of it. Pretending to be someone else.

Why does Talbot always appear from the ether to defend the athletes he films?
No one cares what you say Talbot and really your videos are barely watchable.
Go away plz.
With a recommendation in this thread, I watched one of his videos where he talks about mind games.
Lionel Sanders is one badass mofo. Dude doesn't mess around.. awesome example of how to get S**t done. The "Ironman Mont Tremblant Training Block || Part 1" video is excellent.
My new hero. Dude is up at 4am swimming in a box in his garage, essentially. Looks absolutely miserable.. I envy his determination.
You're like my older brother
In 2018 Lionel Saunders ran a 1:11:47 on a ridiculously hilly half Ironman course in St. George.
The year before Alistair Brownlee ran the same course in 1:14:49.
Tim Don ran the course in 1:16:41.
(Both Brownlee and Don have sub-29:00 10ks to their names).
There is no question, he did this workout.
He has run sub-15 on the roads for 5k (Jordan 5k, Jordan, Ontario, 2013), he ran a random road mile in the middle of tri training in 4:28 (Windsor, Ontario, 2017), he's also run 1:07 or under for the half 3 times (2 on flat/loop courses, and a 1:06:30 on a slightly downhill course), and probably most impressively the 1:36 at Around the Bay 30k. He's also an All-Canadian in XC.
99% of the people on here can't touch those times.

He has to freaking exaggerate his workouts just for views.
Today he is claiming he ran 3 x 2 miles in 10:05, 10:05, and 9:34. Hahahahaha..
He looks like a damn cripple running 5:20/mi pace. Based on what he showed I timed him running about 10:20 for 2 miles. Or he's such a dumb@ss Canadian, it was probably 3 x 3000m in 10:05, 10:04, 9:34. I'd believe that based on his fitness and cripple-like form.

He has a memorable butt. I will give him that.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
