Why is there no talk of Jakob potentially doping? when a 17 year old runs 13:20, that should raise suspicion. Whenever someone from an African country runs fast, people are quick to claim doping, but a white kid from Norway runs world class times at an extremely young age, and no one says a thing.
This might have something to do with 61 positives over the last few years, despite abysmal testing standards which involve official IAAF testers routinely giving athletes advance warning and being known to appreciate the generosity of an of offer of English Breakfast Tea. Three Kenyan born Olympic Champions (or is it 4? - I'm losing track, like a lot of people), including Asbel Kiprop only a couple of months ago. Not to mention the manager of their Rio team being about to go on trial for running a sophisticated doping regime for his athletes out of an El Doret hospital, which is sure to expose a number of big Kenyan names as dopers, and which the army of LetsRun African doping apologists appear to be in denial about.
Also, Norway is the 6th ranked LEAST corrupt nation on Earth, Kenya is the 146th LEAST corrupt nation on Earth.
Is running 13:20 at 17 'suspicious'? David Moorcroft, who only moved up to the 5000 because he wasn't on the same level of talent at his favoured 1500 to the most talented in Europe or his own country, solo ran a 13:00 nearly 40 years ago. Jakob is the youngest and most talented brother out of the most talented running family in Europe for decades, if not ever, and has the benefit of training with and learning from them all his life. The best European 5000m runners should be running under 13 minutes these days, as Jakob likely will be in a couple of years. So running a 13:20 at 17, although a remarkable achievement, is not in any way suspicious.
