Got my first real run in them this morning. An hour easy after a long business trip and a late flight last night.
Imagine the Fresh Foam Zante V3, how it is springy but harsh. Now, imagine that same springy firmness, but with an extra 10mm in the midsole, and at the same (or even less?) weight.
This really is a unique shoe.
To compare to my current (former?) favorite recovery shoe, the Skechers GoRun Ride 7 (don’t knock’em till you try em), the Beacons are lighter and firmer, while the Ride 7’s springiness comes with decidedly more squishiness. However, the Ride 7 does come with the advantage of versatility, with the removable insole that effectively gives you two shoes in one.
Either shoe should be on your short list to try out if you are in the market for an easy mileage shoe.
