I've seen that thing on his arm on Galen before, but have no idea what it is.
And are those the new peg turbo?

It's measuring his levels in training and the data is still being sent to the Nike scientists. They were actually in Kenya when this pic was taken.
The shoes he is wearing is still vaporfly it is just a prototype which has an air unit in the forefoot. It's his normal streak lt upper on the shoe
They look sort of like the zoom fly sp

Like a zoom with a 4% upper.
But it's more likely a prototype/custom shoe.
Not the shoes - OP is wondering about the gadget on his right forearm (barely noticeable). I’m also pretty curious what it’s measuring.
My guess is either (a) O2 saturation and/or (b) temperature. I’ve heard of researchers using a ingestbile temp sensor that transmits the recording to a device via RFID (real-time internal body temp throughout an exercise session would be fascinating data).

Sounds like a big step up from those pesky temperature-sensing suppositories we had to run with back in the day.

It may be a forearm based optical HR monitor. There are a number of these on the market and they are now just as accurate as traditional chest strap monitors, but you don't have the uncomfortable, tight strap around your chest, which can be uncomfortable and bothersome when you're breathing hard - like while you're running fast. Instead, you wear then around your forearm, similar in location to wear EK has that elastic band.

I dont know what the arm thing is but it seems like nike is embracing this "maximalism" thing; those monster shoes look like hokas
