Height to weight ratio doesnt mean jack. All about the power to weight ratio and that golden number is right around 6.2 - 6.5 w/kg.
But if you want a list of good climbers of the current peloton look at:
Nario Quintana
Romain Bardet
Warren Barguil
Mikel Landa
Wout Poels (kinda)
Esteban Chaves
Sergio Henao
Chris Froome is NOT a good climber in his own right- he has the best team that is extremely good at riding his threshold tempo.
Best Climber the US has right now:
Ian Boswell
Joe Dombrowski
I'd put my money on McNulty among the US guys. Hard to forget about Dombrowski at Baldy, though. Still rooting for him.
And of course Froome is a good climber, don't be ridiculous. He's just stressed out way more than normal right now due to his proceedings and likely isn't on the same sauce as normal.
Saying Froome is not a good climber is being ridiculous. There are very few guys that can drop Froome, and when on he routinely drops most of the other guys with many summit finish victories. Fortress Froome makes it hard for others to get away and put time into Froome if he isn't 100%, but when everybody is sitting in, the sky train makes it equally easy for Froome and his rivals for the first 1/2-3/4 of the climb. Froome still wins often from there. Quintana is the only guy I feel like I could say has definitively been a better climber over the past few years.
Leaving Richie Porte out of that list is a cardinal sin too. He has a (probably skills enhanced) case of terrible luck, but on point I think he is one of the top three or five climbers in the peloton. S. Yates right now too from what we are seeing, although he could turn out a one hit wonder.
Also, these might be the best climbers the US has right now...maybe....but you have Brandon McNulty coming up (not a climber, but could easily be a Dumoulin type and I think he already climbs close to the level of Dombrowski). More importantly, you're forgetting Sepp Kuss. He's the real US future in climbing. Powless seems to have some pretty damn good talent.
