I don't know about that. I think Augsberg will take 1st by 25 this year.
25, more like 15!
My money's on Carleton- they just know how to peak at the right time!
DCG will not come back. It's time to move to bigger and better things. The alternative is to shell out $26k for the opportunity to delay medical school up to a year. Not likely.
I think St Olaf will come back stronger next year, but Mueller, Dodge, Wilkinson, Meikle, and whoever will be impossible to beat.
Carleton is getting a stud recruit who is an xc state champ
Don’t know much about the MIAC but I do know that Dodge is a f*cking stud and could will a rag tag band of middle schoolers to victory if he wanted #gamerespectgame

He isn't a stud. He isn't even the best runner on his team. Barely their #2 ahead of a burnt out freshman. He benefits from a conference that graduated all distance nationals qualifiers a year ago. That is it.

He wouldn't have to shell out $26K - he only has to take one class for Carleton's first trimester. I don't know what tuition is at Carleton, but I'm sure it's not $26K per credit. If Donson comes back Carleton would have an excellent chance to trophy at nationals. They can't beat NCC but they'd match up well with everyone else. I would think the online class + show up for MIACs, regions, and nationals route would be at least worth looking into.
Carleton does not have online courses. Tuition is not paid on a per-credit basis. To be eligible for competition, athletes must take 12+ credits (standard course load is 3 courses, 18 credits).
I think there is just a general misunderstanding about what an academically elite institution such as Carleton is like vs. a St. Thomas or Bethel. You just don't go to Carleton because you want to run another year, that just doesn't fly.

I don't think Cook-Gallardo is coming back to run for Carleton this fall (we'd have heard about this plan by now), but this last sentence is not true. In your last semester of competition you do not need to be a full time student, you only need to be enrolled in school. People do this semi-frequently (though it's much more common in D1) - one class is needed for graduation so you only take one class.
Every college has reduced tuition if you're not a full-time student. As for whether Carleton has online classes, I have no idea.
1. Man, is the MIAC XC thread already 2 pages long?
2. Donson is going to med school in the fall, so to delay now would mean Carleton tuition, as well as an extra year of of delaying making his eventual salary as a full-fledged doc (conservatively $200k). That'd be a pretty expensive way to run a few 8ks. Not happening.
Totally unrelated but I know one of you can answer these questions.
1. Where does Wayzata HS have students from (as in what major towns/cities)? Is it 90% Plymouth kids?
2. Where do Plymouth kids go to public HS? All to Wayzata or do they end up elsewhere?
3. Is it accurate that I consider Wayzata HS to be basically Plymouth HS?
This sh*t keeps me up at night.
Wayzata is supposed to draw from north Plymouth and Wayzata (lots of Plymouth also goes to Maple Grove, Osseo, Armstrong, and Cooper). However, they get large amounts of people who open enroll, especially from the Maple Grove area (Wayzata actually had to close open enrollment a few years ago, though I hear they let excellent athletes through).
He's coming back. Carleton trimester are only 10 credits. You can part-time that b real easy.
This thread so far:
Absolute shiite predictions
Is donson coming back?
He's not coming back
He's coming back
He's not coming back
Where's wayzata?
He's coming back
Time for a REDO thread
He's not coming back. Why would he?
Guys, we are division 3. There's no glory for him to go get in cross. He's got an individual and team championship, he's been to nationals, and he can't win nationals. The ONLY race he would have to push it at would be natties because he could walk in a win at conference and his team would bring him to natties if he felt like saving it at regions.
He won't delay the next chapter of his life to run at XC baby nats. No one should.
Also, step one of the thread was sort of glided over. We need headcounts/times for every team's incoming freshman class.
