Hard to say because some distance runners are more speed based while some can’t even break 27 yet have very good strength.
If we’re talking in general I’d say that a 25 200 is pretty good for a true HS distance runner. 26 and below is good in my opinion.
How good of a distance runner are we talking about? A 4:10 runner can certainly run 24 or faster. A 9:40 runner may only be able to run 26.
As an HSer from a small school, I would only respect a sub 26, I’m not even the best on my team and can hit that (team of 10 guys all above 10/4:30/2:05)
