As a Domer, I follow ND pretty closely. There was a lot of upheaval after Coach Piane left. Coach Sparks is now settled in coaching the women distance runners. Coach Carlson is in his first (?) full year coaching the men. The men, especially, have great distance recruits coming in next year. Freshmen are doing well, including Nuguse, who anchored the DMR to second in Nationals. Second-fastest anchor in the field. His best event might be the 5k. A couple good frosh women, also. Have good milers/1500 seniors on both sides this year. In December, Coach Sparks, on a radio broadcast, remarked that this is a redshirt "year" for Anna Rohrer. I'm guessing you won't see her on the track this year. She is studying psychology and neuroscience. She can easily spend at least five years in the classroom with those subjects. Best of luck and health to all.
33:25 10K tonight. Lady can run.
Solid time for her coming off an injury and racing against relatively weak competition. I hope she stays healthy this season and in the future.
Won ACC 10K in first race of season last night. Hopefully she is healthy for a good while.
Getting a job or going to grad school after a Notre Dame neuroscience degree has a much bigger net present value than trying to become a pro runner, particularly if you account for the uncertainty involved. She may not come back from the injury, but this is why you go to a great school in the first place, particularly if you participate in a marginally popular sport.
