For what it’s worth, I’ve met Alexi in person and she was very nice and pleasant. I didn’t get the narcissistic vibe from her at all.
However, it’s her online/interview “fame persona” that I think annoy a lot of people, including myself. She just seems to try too hard to be “quirky” and “different” that it comes off as a calculated marketing act. No one in real life is as much of a Manic Pixie Dream Girl to the level that she certainly makes herself to appear. It’s definitely irritating, but you can’t begrudge someone too much for trying to market themselves in a niche.
Her art and writing are very bad however, and as much as I respect her for going for a tough career, you know none of it would garner an ounce of media attention if she weren’t a good enough runner to make her story a human interest one.
