We dueled over the last couple miles and then I gapped him in the last half mile or so. Looks like the Vaporfly 4% didn’t return enough energy for the final stretch.
Ask me anything about what it’s like to beat a guy wearing the Vaporfly 4%.

Just think how much more you would have beaten him by if you had been wearing them too!
Is it difficult being so poor?

True, maybe there never would have been a dual if I had the Vaporfly as I would have been so far ahead.

I am cheap, not poor. Also, I am not even running sub-16 for the 5k, I don’t feel fast enough for the Vaporfly at this point.
If your PR is above 15:00 in a 5k, you shouldn't bother wearin the vaporfly. I agree. You have other things to worry about.
Did he look relaxed?
So you ran a 26:17 to his 26:23. Congrats.
Note that this was for a 5K.
You beat a 7 year old. Well done!!!!!
Take his PR, subtract the amount of time you beat him by, subtract 4%, and claim the new number as your current 5k PR.
Do you consider this calculation accurate?

I’m big boned.
Was he wearing a compression brace on his left and right shins?

I don’t even know what that is. Some type of fancy sock?

Well, it was a 10k race. But I don’t need the Letsrun cheating investigators tracking me down or wanna be like Paul Ryan, so I do not consider that conversion to be accurate.

I don’t know, he was behind me most of the race.

I agree, I need to focus on becoming Letsrun elite before I am worthy of the Vaporfly.
On a more serious note, does the Vaporfly have as much of a benefit for shorter, faster races like 5k and under? I figure that a more traditional racing flat would be more appropriate for 5k and under, as all that foam could inhibit turnover and speed.
What event would 4% make a bigger difference on 26.2 miles or 5km?
4% is 4%, i would say the longer the race the more beneficial it is.
I spoke to that guy after the race and it was his first time to run...ever.
Borrowed the shoes from his brother.

This is false because the individual in question has been a local road race stalwart for many years.
The last time I wore my vaporfly 4% at my local race my shorts flew off as I came in fourth place. Only beaten by three other women wearing vaporflys.

Please explain how this happened.
Ran another road race today. Saw another guy at the start wearing the Vaporfly 4%. Although it may have been the Zoom Fly, I'm not sure.
Anyways, I beat this guy and every other guy because I won the race. Another blow to the myth of the Vaporfly 4%.
