I am cautious of hype from both sides of the aisle.
But here are facts we all can observe and agree upon without argument:
1. McCabe - gone - at least according to Wray, because of information to be contained in a forthcoming IG report.
2. Strzok - second in command for counterintelligence - moved to a HR position. Also fired from Mueller's team.
3. Page - senior DOJ lawyer - reassigned.
4. Laufman - senior DOJ lawyer - reassigned.
5. Bruce Ohr - spouse of Nellie Ohr - reassigned.
6. Baker - FBI legal counsel - gone
7. Rybicki - deputy to Comey - gone
8. And of course Comey - gone - but let's discount that in case some think Trump acted capriciously in firing him (although the President does have the authority to act capriciously, as much as we might not like it).
Who is still there? Priestap? The head of counterintelligence? Why? One can hazard a guess - and it explains to me why Nunes - no matter how much one dislikes him - is acting with such a swagger.
Of course, there could be a variety of explanations for all of these departures, but there it is increasingly hard to believe that they are coincidental. Or perhaps I watched too many episodes of the Sopranos.
