Kiefer is going to forever be the "favorite underdog"...you can already tell. Will never be a big name but will get sh1t done time and time again.

My favorite result of the year so far. Huge PB! Equivalent to her New York performance though but winning is a big step up!!
No we know why this went under the radar. Nobody ran.
Wow what a YAWN this was then.

Why do they call it the Doha Marathon in all official verbiage when it's a half? Doesn't even seem like they're putting on a full marathon.
FFS! It would have taken you about two clicks to find out that there is also a Marathon. But instead you post crap on here.
Should they have a full marathon? Four out-and-backs is a bit of a disaster, even if the corniche is a nice spot.

+1
Meucci DNS as well?
From athletics weekly -- Mo Farah did not enjoy such a successful trip, however, as the 10-time global track gold medallist withdrew before the start of the half-marathon, with his management company PACE explaining this was due to a tight Achilles.

What did you think? This is right out of the Mo playbook. He'll not make the same mistake as in Edinburgh last year. Excluding world and oly finals (which he actually does win), he races only watered down dog and pony shows.

You are so ignorant. Mo could run a 1:01:53 any day of the week. This was an easy win for him. It's so childish to think he is lying about his Achilles to duck the competition. He has no reason to duck the competition when he could easily win the race. If his achilles is bothering him, why in the world would any high class runner of his caliber race a half marathon and screw up the preparations for a marathon.. which in his case is London. Is he racing watered down dog and pony shows there?? No you imbecile...

Gabius as well!! Looks like them three went to a bar. Three men walk into a bar, a German, an Italian, and a Somalian...

Hi Tania!
Why are people still calling him Mo?
That's so racist ans Islamophobe.
Was it pretty warm in Doha?
I never thought that Mo had a history of DNS-ing. He carefully chooses when to run based on his fitness. The end goal is London. If he was feeling an injury then it's smart not to push it. I feel like he would not have traveled to not run.
70 is a good mark for Kieffer. That seems to match-up well with her NYC time and what she has run over 20k. Yeah, maybe not the most competitive race, but she took down some women who have some good results to their names.
Big pb by Bates as well, dropping two minutes to run 1:12:52. Maybe she'll start focusing on the longer stuff? Is it true that she got dropped by the BAA? That was in another thread earlier this week.
Also not seeing Vail's name in the results. Was hoping Vail would continue the comeback and have a strong race. Abdi home in 1:03.

It looked high 50s/low 60s weather-wise. And good job for Kieffer. Another good data point.

Uh-ohhhhh. Someone got triggered! The point is that the race itself was watered down- start or not. When you've not yet got your rbc's up and weight down, a person sure has to pick and choose which races to do to maintain self confidence. The U.K. athletics organisers do a wonderful job of facilitating that. Can't hide from Kipchoge and the big boys though! Looking forward to seeing him get thrashed in London Town.

he runs for a pacific association-USATF team called the Aggies which is sponsored by Hoka (recently took over from Asics)

yeah, how did ryan Vail do?
Yep. He'll get thrashed there. 2:05 would surprise me and 2:04 would shock me. Little too good at the track, especially 1500, to expect him to play with the greats of the marathon.
1:49.84 - 800m Freshmen National Record - Cooper Lutkenhaus (check this kick out!!)
Jakob on Oly 1500- “Walk in the park if I don’t get injured or sick”
Emma Coburn to miss Olympic Trials after breaking ankle in Suzhou
VALBY has graduated (w/ honors) from Florida, will she go to grad school??
Men who run twice a day and the women who love/put up with them
