Andy Payne just won the Ohio Indoor 3200 state championship in 9:10 with a last 800 in 2:08. He will be better at the longer distances in college too. Look for him to break 9:00 in outdoor. The MAC's best recruit for next year.

I would look at the rosters of your top schools. Pick out the freshmen and sophomores and compare their current times to their HS times. Athletic Net will have HS times and TFRRS the college times. We were pretty shocked when we did this. It really helped in narrowing. Did it for the ladies not the men. Michigan and Virginia Tech had mind blowing results. UVA and Vanderbilt were not so great. Also check out how much the roster changes over time. You can see if they are simply buying foreigners for a year or two or they are dedicated to developing their athletes. Also incredibly insightful to see how many they lose. One school we looked at only had 3 upper classmen that had started as freshman. It is a lot of work but its a serious decision worth the research. Good luck.
I’ll second this regarding VT and mich. Can talk all day about your recruiting rankings, but at end of four years these programs recruits will be outperorming the “blue chippers” 9 times out of ten.
