I assumed this is one of a series of announcements we were getting throughout the day. Is all there is for now? What happened to the XC guy we were promised?
Impressive a head coach who take charge and hires people very quickly. Meanwhile: UK, NDU, TEXAS, UNC, Oregon seems to be very quiet. All quiet on the home front.

To be fair, NDU and UK do not have head coaches at this point. It is the administration that is not being decisive. I agree on Texas, UNC, and Oregon.
All my buddies in the midwest who are tied very closely to college coaching keep saying that Notre Dame is not paying very much and lots of people have been interested but then withdrew. If the salary they are throwing around is accurate then shame on Notre Dame. Pay a head coach like they deserve to be paid. If this is the real salary then it will go to someone who is not the most qualified, but who will take the job for what they are offering.
If the rumors are true at the University of Washington, I am sad for the sport. I was so excited for the vision and pedigree of these two champion coaches in the Powells, but it looks like we have more coaches in Montlake who think they can out-coach and out-recruit Oregon, Stanford, and Colorado in the distance events, instead of finding a few events that have scoring potential in the conference, like the throws, multis, vault, or hurdles. Huskies already employed 3 distance coaches to babysit the least technical event in the sport - hope the Powells can separate their heart for the distance events from the needs of a collegiate program and the flagship of an entire state of track and field. Not looking good.
My guess is the Powells care more about the success of their program than anybody else. Trust them to position their team to be successful and stop assuming philosophy and outcome 2 weeks after the hire.
Princeton Dir of Ops position sent out some "no longer being considered" notices today

If they go all in on distance I would assume they do not care that much about their outdoor track success. Which is the big one in our sport.
The UC Davis write up is incredibly awkward

One of the few times in history that LR asked for an got a pic and I was not disappointed! Nice.
Wow, she is on the fast track. Braman and Franklin are teaming up to make sure she gets a job. What exactly did she accomplish at Pepperdine? I am sure it was big but I missed it. Results are not important just create opportunities.

It's a great time to be a woman.
That is ridiculous..............
Mike Smith at NAU had maybe a faster rise. It was ridiculous how little he had done before taking over Georgetown. It hasn’t stopped him from huge success. I also believe he is a white male. Lots of luck but he made the most of it.
McGregor back to Texas as new distance coach...
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
