Great to see even cross country kids engaging in their world. It hard to break from the norm and do something bold. This is what America was founded on, and making actions for what we believe in is what makes the future great. Kudos.

Lol making fun of womens cross country on a running message board you spend a large proportion of your waking life on.
I made nationals twice and both times did not stop for the anthem, matter fact at every big race this bullshit was played I continued to stretch, stride out or continued to do whatever I was doing. A few teammates noticed but largely did not mind, the one or two who did usually understood me after a conversation or two. At the time it wasn't to make a point but for practical reasons, I am not standing stiff for 2 minutes in the cold for an arbitrary gesture of "respect". Look this weird borderline fetish obsession with the anthem inextricably linked to military and respect is uniquely American, no other civilized country cares about this bullshit. The fact americans care more about symbols then actual people dying is a damning reflection of the collective conscience of the country.

Hold it, people are actually dying because of their interrupted warmup? Yikes things are worse than we thought!

Looks like it. Props to whoever it was. Another good vlog. Have to wonder though if the Ducks would have done better if not so nice and a bit more hungery.
Is that the pursuit of or interest in people who are hung?
So because a person isn't directly affected, they can't protest for the cause? Making jokes, almost as if she doesn't have the right to protest injustice because she drinks starbucks and is in college. You think every person at an LGBTQ rally was gay? Some people actually have compassion towards others and can see that people are actually struggling. White men and women marched for civil rights but like you guys said, what do they have to worry about though?

What exactly is she protesting? Likely, she doesn't even know. It's the Che Guevara t-shirt of social movements...just "cool" and avante garden to do. Perhaps this upper middle class white girl that doesn't even pay her cell phone bill was trying to highlight Starbucks being out of pumpkin spice lattes that morning? Maybe the recent price increase on ugg boots?
Which garden now?

She's not doing jack for civil rights. She's drawing attention to herself.

Like all of the great things that the Hippies accomplished in the 70's.
Being respectful to those who died for our great country is what should be taught.

Peeing during the national anthem? That's worse than kneeling, which in my patriotic opinion is very disrespectful. There I said it. Don't pee during the national anthem. Or kneel. Choose another form of protest.
Maybe take a dump?
"Hey everybody, look at me!!!"

Uhh, I’m talking about the entire 12 minute vlog not the 2 seconds on the national anthem. The girls team seems like a nice group of ladies but can’t help but wonder if singing on the bus to the race is the right attitude to have before the biggest race of their lives. Maybe not hungry enough.

If she had finished higher in the standings would she also have passed on the "All American" honors? I doubt it.

This is how I feel about the anthem being played at races, but you were much more frank about it. I’m stretching or shaking out my muscles for those two minutes because I’m not standing there being motionless and getting cold right before the race. It’s not my fault the schedule planner doesn’t understand the needs of the runners.
If you’re only gesture of respect towards your fellow citizens or country is respecting the anthem or flag without actually taking any action to improve your community, help your fellow citizens, or be an active participant in democracy, you’re a hypocrite. Put your money where your mouth is and actually do something rather than stand at attention for a couple minutes every month or so.
Anyways, the gal that was kneeling (for whatever reason) did not bring any attention to herself until some yahoo that watched that entire video decided to focus on a one-second detail in a 15-minute video and shower attention upon her.

What is the cause?
A Trump tweet will fix this egregious situation! Works every time.
"This is bad. It's very bad, believe me. It's so bad. Could affect NAFTA. The Oregon plane swooped down and wasn't even allowed to land in Kentucky. Check her birth certificate. Fans on all sides are to blame. Very bad people. Should have left this Rocket Girl in Louisville."
You guys realize that none of this kneeling would matter if you didn't get so butthurt about it. They only do it because it pisses you off and then you freak out about it and make it worse. It will go away soon if you just stop talking about it.
