Got in my Paradigm 4.0s today. Took them for a little jog. Holy TPU Batman. I will report back after a longer run, but I am really excited about these.

More excited than with the NB Beacon? :)
Did you get size 14 or did you size up due to reviews that the Altra sizes short

It's like techwear/streetwear. I can't tell if you're being sarcastic but lifestyle is the label they slap on models that aren't for performances purposes. Honestly a good looking shoe.
With time, my son, you will better understand Internet sarcasm.

Hey, I knew it was sarcasm but I was clarifying for some of the other readers ;)

Saw those, but got my normal size 14 and they are fine. More secure than most altras, but I consider that a good thing.
Worth noting: I am honestly closer to a 13.5e than a 14, but wearing 14 because nobody makes a 13.5e, so if a shoe IS a tiny bit short, I wouldn’t notice (or mind) much. But I think the sizing is fine, refardless :-)

Ha, I have been comparing the two in my head ever since I ordered the 4.0s. In reality, they are very different shoes. 4.0s are over 2oz heavier, zero drop (NB is 6, methinks), and have more of a “sink and explode” feel vs a firmer sensation in the NBs.
That being said, I may be using the 4.0s more for recovery now, and am gonna try the Beacons for a longer speed session today. I will report back.
Hi,
I know that skechers gorun ride 7 and Nike epic react isn't boost midsole material but they certaintly has some bounce and response to their midsole . They both remind me of boost and everrun but much lighter. I have saucony and adidas running shoes as well but these 2 models are impressive.
Cheers

Thanks. SGRR7 has gotten a lot of love from posters on these boards, myself included. The new FlightGen stuff def has some energy return. For that matter, if you are in the market for a racing flat, I strongly recommend the GoMeb Speed 5. I think it is better than the Zoom Streak LT3/4, although I will get flamed for saying it, lol.
Ran the 2nd half of 15 miles in the Paradigm this morning. Knit upper a little too stretchy (not as bad as the Escalante 1.0, but I wish they had gone w a mesh), and the shoes are definitely heavy (10.5oz @ size 9), although it could have just been my legs and losing 9 lbs during the run, lol.
That being said, the crazy amnt of Ego (TPU) underfoot feels amazing, while the zero drop platform still makes it feel barefoot-ish (or, at least as barefoot as 30mm of TPU can do, lol). These will be great shoes for saving my legs a beating, but I will be interested to see how such a heavy shoe impacts my “recovery” days...

Much of the appeal of the Boost midsole is its durability. I have 750 miles on my 1st pair Supernova shoes that I bought last August/September and continue to wear them for training runs. I also have a 2nd pair that I have been saving for when the first pair are worn out. The 2nd pair do have noticeably more cushion than the first pair but the first pair still have more than enough cushion to prevent discomfort or injury. Some runners complain that the current Supernova has too much cushion compared to prior versions. So they may actually find the current Supernova's cushion more acceptable once they get a few hundred miles on them. The Nike LunarGlide and other Brooks and Nike shoes that I wore before the Supernova were worn out typically by 350 miles.
So please share your experience regarding durability of these non-TPU midsole shoes compared to the Adidas shoes you wore that had Boost.
Agreed. As much as I am enjoying my Beacons and GRR7s, I know they have a relatively short window of enjoyability.
Meanwhile, I am still trying to kill my first pair of Freedoms. There is almost zero compression after 350ish miles (I rotate several pairs of shoes). So, ya, durability, check.
I bet most EVA has a shorter shelf life than most TPU’s running life.
Hi,
The main advantages of the skechers GOrun ride 7 over some adidas shoes is that you can buy two for the price of one adidas even though they arn't as durable its far cheaper and also lighter.
Cheers

Agreed.
Just don’t buy the 2 pair of GRR7s at the same time, as EVA has a shelf life :-)
Where's your reference for that concern with EVA?
So I live near an Adidas clearance store, and yesterday they had 40% off already cheap stuff so I got another pair of Ultra Boost st's for $US59, they came in a sea blue/green colour. Anyway these are slightly different from the pair I got earlier in the year, they don't have the hard plastic wrap upper that cuts in and hurts the tops of your feet, just full knit. I tried on the Adidas Pureboost Clima while I was there, nice shoes but they don't have the Ultra boost back (or lack thereof) and I have achilles problems on my left side (hence the Ultra Boosts).

I'm about ready to eat crow here and admit I was wrong... I'm not sure where that pic of the Turbo midsole/outsole layers came from, but I'm not sure I believe it anymore. First, someone in the know sent me info on the early prototype and the plate and midsole were different than the current one with the seam, so the seam is probably not where the plate was located. Second, early owners all say the bottom layer of midsole feels like REACT while the upper layer feels like ZoomX. I'm waiting for the Aug 2nd release of the black pair so I don't have them yet. The best way to confirm would be to put them in the refrigerator as REACT is very temperature sensitive and ZoomX is not. The REACT will get rock hard while the ZoomX will not change much.
My apologies to shoe guyz!
