Arai and Koyabashi, Japan, 2nd and 3rd, Arai-no reds! Koyabashi has one red. Arai, close to perfect stylist within the rules. Nihon -sugoi desu ka!

Diniz is employed by French Post Office, but has 100 percent time for training. Diniz just did his last km in 4.07! 5 mins lead, at 2hrs 45 mins in the race. He has to be careful with his one red.
So pretty much like the Kenyan police or army then.
Diniz just got a 'yellow' for small warning. Chill, Yoann, chill! The Japs walking at 4.20 per km pace. Diniz 4.16 toning it down, to avoid disqualification. Dumfee, Canada -one red card, or is it two? He finished 4th in Rio.
I don't think Diniz' form is objectionable. If he gets booted then more than half the field should.
He's definitely dialed it back compared to earlier in the race.
Diniz lapped Heffernan, the Irish star. Diniz is on fire. Diniz usually trains in Font Romeu, but this year stayed at home. Diniz, 6 mins lead, on the Japanese. Ukrainian guy coming back strong. Diniz likes classic coke, after races. Beer in the evenings, red wine for lunch.
In France, if you win a World or Olympics, you are set for life. He will never starve. I see him on French TV in the future, even though he is more Woody Allen than Tom Cruise, in looks!
Diniz has lapoed, ,2km, almost the entire field. He will lap everyone, bar the two Japanese. Diniz, lapping Dumfee! Insane cadence by the French postal worker, with the nerdy look -he wears thick eye glasses, when not racing or training. 4.10 last km. Lapping leading girl for third time, 6km ahead!
Diniz, 39 years old, soon. Almost master status. 3.21, three km left. Almost there. Allez! Glavan, Ukr., coming back at 4.17 pace, the Japs on 4.26 pace.
Glavan, Ukraine, short compact dynamo, with almost similar body of a gymnast. Reported that Glavan can do 20 pullups with perfect form, accordind to sources. Diniz 4.03 last km! Insane!

Like a stipend for life from the government? How much, ballpark?
Glavan closing on Japs. Ukrainian is flying! He has no red cards, so can take some risks
Around 2500 euros -3000 euros per month, indexed to inflation, for life.
Watching on France 2. Who's that lethargic-sounding female commentator? Former athlete? Certainly not a journalist.
He's grabbed a French flag from the spectators and wrapped around his neck as he marches on for the win.. 3:33.11. Championship record.
Diniz wins in 3.33.11!
Glavan, trying to catch the Japs, but the two Japs just increased their pace. Unlikely for the Ukrainian to catch the two.
She is the best female 20km walker, injured, so will not compete.
El Keniano, may we contact you by email?
Japan, 2, 3, and 5. Ukraine guy 4th, Hungarian 6th. Pole 7th.
Diniz cadence, 166-175 steps per minute, simply cannot be matched by other walkers. He is worth around 18 mins and small change, for 5000 track walk -those other guys don't have that kind of turnover.

Wow. That's very good motivation. I wish Kenya would set up something similar to stem the mercenaries. But given the amount medalists, I don't know if they can afford it.
Leading woman has averaged around 5 mins per km. Her best time, 4.08, would see her on most national teams for men. Average pace of 12km per hour.
