I volunteered for the role of parent manager for my son's XC team. Only been a runner or asst coach in the past and present. Any ideas to add valu to the role?

Bump
If there is not a really good plan for checking out and checking in uniforms and sweats, create one. Some coaches are notoriously poorly organized in this regard and "lose" gear at an alarming rate.
Thanks
checklists and timelines are your friend.
learn to delegate, even the smallest tasks.
assign roles to individuals. (this also creates value to the lesser members of the team, and they can see how they impact the team as a whole).
learn how to set-up a 10x10 tent efficiently, then teach it to the crew who will always do it.
not delegating even the smallest task will create burnout for you, and remember, your role is to make the coach's life easier, so that he can coach the team effectively.
Make sure you get the cell phone numbers of everyone on the XC team.
