Not even close to their best song.
Ramble On. California. Whole Lotta Love. Blackdog. RocknRoll. STH. The Lemon Song. Just to name a few.

A fool's errand to pick just five.
A few like I like, not exclusive:
Babe, I'm gonna leave you
Battle of Evermore
When the Levee Breaks
Rain Song
Ten Years Gone
In My Time of Dying
Black Mountain Side
big fan of all of their straight blues songs.

I prefer "The lead singer of this band likes boys." by the John Utah Band.
The studio version, though. Not the live version usually played at bath houses and the like.
And you know about the bath houses from personal "first hand" experience?
Some nice lists. It's good to see there are people here who appreciate music. I like every song on every list so far.
But my 5 personal Zep faves are:
What Is and What Should Never Be.
Achilles Last Stand
Black Dog
Heartbreaker
All of My Love (kinda pop but catchy and I have fond memories of stuff happening in my life when it came out).
If you don't like this list, that's Ok. It's really nobody's fault but mine :)
I have the main guitar riff for Black Dog as my ringtone on my phone.
I also really like 'The Immigrant Song'. Some people consider that song a joke, but I used to listen to it before races to pump me up. Plus, there are more than a couple later heavy metal songs that were inspired by the rhythm work in that song. The fact I have some Viking ancestry only has a little to do with my liking the song :).
I would give my left nut to have Jimmy Page skills for one month.
No to this whole thread.

Nope. Youtube.
"D'yer Mak'er" is a fine song.
I guess I'm a top 40 fan, love
Going to California
Over the Hills and Far Away
Kashmir
The Rain Song
Stairway to Heaven

I'm always surprised by how little love "Ten Years Gone" gets when Led Zeppelin tunes come up in discussion.
That's actually a really good one. Not in my top 5 but great. I tripped on acid to Physical Graffitti all night once.
1. Babe I'm Gonna Leave You
2. Stairway to Heaven
3. Achilles Last Stand
4. The Rain Song
5. When the Levee Breaks
6. Going to California
7. No Quarter
8. Fool in the Rain
9. Immigrant Song
10. Over the Hills and Far Away
I haven't yet explored In Through the Out Door quite like I should have.
When the Levee Breaks
Out on the Tiles
Good Times, Bad Times
Gallows Pole
In My Time of Dying

Some forgotten gems! Out on the Tiles especially. Gallows Pole is also great.
I don't care what purists say. Here's my list
D'yer Maker
When the Levee Breaks
Stairway
are my favorites.
Your Time is Gonna Come
Good Times Bad Times
Houses of the Holy
also some top picks. Gotta go back and listen to II, III, and the last couple.

Why not go with Kansas Joe McKoy, Lead Belly and Townes Van Zandt instead?
ittod is a bit of a mixed bag, with some quite weak tracks on it. i saw the tour at knebworth but the ones off the new album weren't that special.
overall I would pick
since i've been livin you
battle of evermore
trampled underfoot
kashmir
black dog

Always loved this one
I saw them in the summer of '73. Very disappointing. Robert Plant ruined nearly every song.
Achilles last stand
When the levee breaks
Communication breakdown
Since I've been loving you
Misty mountain hop

Is being a big fan of Fool in the Rain a runner thing? That song is always playing through my head during long runs. In Through the Out Door is a great album all around, no matter what early Zep purists say. I'm Gonna Crawl is one of my faves.
My top Zep songs:
Bron-Y-Aur Stomp (no really)
When The Levee Breaks
Going to California
The Ocean
The Rain Song
All Of My Love
I'm Gonna Crawl
Fool in the Rain
I'm impressed with Let's Run, choosing the quality zep songs. Every single one of those songs are f#cking fantastic.
