Legal brothels would be too expensive. Still would be plenty of illegal stuff at lower prices.

Some letsrunners wouldn't be hating on the world so much because they could actually have sex. But most of the others would complain about the cost and still be hating. They'd blame liberals for the prostitution taxes and public education that enables women to have career choices.
Jamin would lose his virginity, once he had paid off his DWI fines and could actually afford a hooker, that is

Serious question. Assume that brothels would be taxed, and all prostitutes would be regularly checked for STDs and drug use.
I think it would boost the economy slightly, and rape would go down. Sure, the religious nuts may freak out, but the sky hasn't fallen in places like Germany, the Netherlands, and New Zealand, all of which have legal brothels.
Rape is not about sex.

No. Women aren't being progressive and allowing their husbands to have sex with other women.
Are you crazy?
The one's that marry for money are. The women that marry rich, loaded guys could care less what their husbands do outside of marriage. As long they got their hooks on the dough...they're in the show. Marriage is a joke these days anyway; it's mostly about money & looks...who could have imagined.
Human trafficking would increase.
It's so easy to find an escort now that the ones who do want to visit prostitutes will do it. So I doubt much would change except that more men would try it. But it still won't be acceptable to admit and for most guys it still won't feel as satisfying as a relationship. That's how it is in countries where it goes on in my experience. I've never talked to other guys about paying for it.
I just went to a certain country in Latin America. Makes the US feel like a ripoff for sure. Hot women who do you good for a relatively inexpensive price. That said, even after having paid for it with hot girls, I still get a bit upset at my single life and the girls that I liked who got away. With prostitutes and girls you don't care about, they are forgettable. And for sure, I won't pay for it in the US again.

I don't know.
There are a lot of poor and ugly married people.

You do realize that at least some of the cheap hookers down there are guys? The easiest way to tell if it's a dude is whether their chin feels like sand paper on your balls.

I think it would decrease.
There would be licensing and inspection for legal brothels that would discourage human trafficking.
Human trafficking, like marijuana and cocaine smuggling, works best went it's part of an illegal business.

That's not horniness unfulfilled. That's a violent thing.
People will still be judged and shamed for going there or working there.
And no one will want one near their neighborhood or place of business.
Are you saying morality and societal norms/mores related to human sexuality is some kind of closed minded concept holding society back from greatness? You ok with your daughter being a whore? Right...
Don't know if I understand what you wrote.
I'm saying making something legal doesn't make it acceptable.

Actually, swinging, open marriages, and polyamory are all drastically on the rise. For many couples with discrepancy in desire or sexual interest where the relationship is otherwise perfect, it's practically canon now for marital counselors and therapists to suggest opening up the marriage under carefully negotiated terms, emphasizing trust and communication.

I suspect these places would be frequented by men whose relationship needs are already met much more than by single men.

Only if it drove the price down.

So, everyone here who knows a couple in an open marriage please post.
I don't know a single one.
There may be more known than before, But I still assume that it is exceedingly rare.

If you consider 4-5% of the US population as exceedingly rare, I guess.
https://www.livescience.com/27129-polyamory-good-relationships.htmlIn fact, over 20% of Americans have tried non-monogamy at some point according to research published in a peer reviewed journal.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/27096488/And attitudes and interest towards non-monogamy are trending up. My guess is if you don't know anyone in a non-monogamous relationship, it's because you're not someone people trust with that information.
https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/strictly-casual/201404/whos-really-interested-in-alternate-relationshipsIt's essentially legal in Canada you just can't "solicite" in public.
Just because it's legal does not mean it's taxed. It just means you can't be arrested for "advertising" and "buying".
They will never tax it because it's an underground economy like paying cash to the guy who hauls away your junk or fixes your dripping faucet.

I prefer a gal messes with my junk or fixes my pipe but accurate point.
I would take any supposed figures with a very large grain of salt.
There has never been a survey or study of sexual behavior that actually included a representative population. People who honestly participate in any sex survey or study are already outliers.
