You need to go by what the runner currently is Moore was struggling to do a 5:30 pace for 15 miles with Coe. What was Moore running in races at that point?
What are we arguing about exactly? He was still in better shape than Fitzgerald was at his peak. if he were in 2:11 shape he'd wouldn't have been retired.
Anybody know what happened to this book project? It's been almost 2 years... I thought I heard somewhere on a podcast a while ago (12+ months ago) that the book first draft was finished. I wonder if this will ever see the light of day...

I think Matt is in his mid 40s. Does anyone know his PRs?
Wasn't Fitzgerald kind of beaten to the bookshelf with the Paper Lion approach by Adharanand Finn when the latter published "Running With The Kenyans", which was a great book idea but not magnificently written.

Wasn't "Running With The Kenyans" published in 2012 or 2013? Fitzgerald's stint with NAZ Elite was in 2017. I was looking forward to his book about the experience, although the more time that passes, the less likely it seems it will ever be published.
Something new. Now retired, check it out, you may like. Hits Amazon and B&N on October 1.

There's a strong possibility that the NAZ (almost) Elite work took a backseat to his recently published "Life Is a Marathon: A Memoir of Love and Endurance". It's a book that's well out of his wheelhouse and couldn't have been easy to put on paper.
Looks like Matt Fitzgerald's book that chronicles his summer training with NAZ Elite is finally scheduled for publication. "Running the Dream", out in May 2020 according to his twitter account.
