How can people watch basketball anymore?

Officiating, or the lack of consistent officiating, is why the NBA is unwatchable most of the time. Evidently, superstars are immune from traveling, double dribbles, and other calls reserved for mortals. The integrity of the game takes a backseat to a SportsCenter highlight dunk run in from half court.

Oh, why does the final 2-3 minutes of a close game take 20 minutes to play and resembles a middle school girl's slap fight more than basketball? If I want to watch 20 minutes of free throw shooting interspersed with slow walking, I'll go to my local YMCA to watch some middle aged men "network" before their Corporate/40+/Under 6 Foot league tournament.

Why the f does the NBA have that stupid rule where in the last 2 minutes (or so) of the game, if it's your possession, you can call a timeout and immediately get the ball at 3/4 court? Doesn't it go against the entire nature of the game to move the ball up the court? It's beyond stupid.

As I've said before, it's akin to the NFL going...If Team A scores in the last 2 minutes of the game, Team B can immediately call a timeout and get the ball at Team A's 35 yard line.

Your memory is horrid. It was the Knicks/ Rockets Finals. The Bulls were playing golf.

I don't know if you can call them the greatest teams of all time. Golden State would have had a hard time getting past San Antonio if it were not for Kawhi getting taken out by Pachulia (they were down big at home before that happened). The Cavs would have had a hard time getting past a healthy Chicago Bulls team (they were 0-4 against Chicago this season) had they not intentionally dropped into the 2nd seed. Every team has a match up that is difficult for them.

Absolutely 100% true. How can I get excited about LeBron's game and get into how he compares to other all-time greats when he's allowed to run around out there with the ball like he's some 4th grader in a Saturday Morning League? The requirements for dribbling are closer to rugby: dribble the ball 1x for every 15 feet you run with it tucked under your arm. LeBron looks like he's running the option at OU circa 1986. Run with the ball, fake pitching it, keep it and run to the goal. It's ridiculous. And it's the whole league. Except for the goons. They whistle them for traveling before they get to the scorer's table.

No Help? For goodness sake, they scored 120 points. This series just happened to be a showcase of two teams with some awesome offensive talent! Some will say it was poor defense, but hand checking is no longer allowed and these players are too good to be stopped without it. That's why one can't compare Jordan with James. Imagine if defenders weren't allowed to hand check Jordan? OOOOooooo!

Agreed. Enough is enough. I won't be watching any more NBA basketball until AT LEAST October and suggest others do the same.

Regarding a comment above concerning Golden State players' contracts:

Thompson & Green are signed thru 2019 & 2020.

Iguidala has already stated in a recent interview that he, Curry & Durant will be holding a presser or together announcing their intentions for next season within a few weeks.

All the warriors beat writers/commentators are certain this means they all will resign with the Warriors at least through next season.

The real questions then become: will there be enough $$ left over to sign Livingston, West, Pachulia, McGee, and Clark? Will West and/or Pachulia decide to retire?

Will free agents like Zach Randolph want to join the team on veteran's minimum salary like Pachulia & West did this year?

There likely will be some turnover, but nothing like last year.

I watched about 5 minutes of the game. Got sick of watching Cleveland clear out the lane to let Lebron push a defender back under the net and make a layup. Oh, that's so exciting!

Rating were sky high, so people must be watching.

Curry and Durant will be resigned next month. Thompson and Green are on bargain deals for 2-3 more seasons. GSW aren't going anywhere for a while. They're the next dynasty.

Read a book by Michael Jordan's trainer the other day. He basically implied that MJ started winning championships as soon as he started weight training, because "he was sick of getting out-muscled by the Pistons". It's insane how we went from MJ's era to this weak derivative/sorry-excuse for basketball. I feel like I'm watching a game of Twister.

There's something called salary cap. And they offered 80k multi-year deal to Tristan Thompson. Not the best move in my opinion. Also Kevin Love is overpaid.
