How can people watch basketball anymore?

I read an essay a few years ago talking about how in the United States of America we have this weird habit of pretending that a bunch of nothing is really sometihing great. The Super Bowl, the NBA (modern version) and Miss America pageant are prime examples.

Hockey season is over. What else is there to watch? Baseball? Hahahahahahaha!

The sport is kind of lame now that players are allowed to pick up the ball and run with it.

You cannot be serious. This is the game played at an extremely high level by a bunch of stars in James, Irving, Durant, Curry, Thompson, and Love, and even many of the role players have been in all star games (Deron Williams, Draymond Green, Andre Iguodala, Kyle Korver?). Closest thing we can get to the 1980s star-laden teams of the 76ers, Lakers, Celtics, Pistons, and an emerging Bulls team, but with much, much better 3 pt shooters.

If Pearl harbor or 9/11 happened on a Friday evening, America's got talent would probably have more viewers than the news

It is truly amazing to see how people go out of there way to watch some of this stuff. They don't call it "the idiot box" for nothing.

Because other people like things that you don't. I'd bet there are things you like to watch that other people don't like to watch.

You're obviously not a basketball fan and don't watch much. We basketball fans will just have to try and live without your support.

They need Jackie Moon to do the promoting to make basketball watchable again. The Flint Mega Bowl was the most watchable game ever. In all seriousness any professional sport without a hard cap is pretty much unwatchable for the majority of the country. There is no more entertaining league than the NFL because there is a sense of fair competition.

First of all, you are correct that calling a foul on Korver because Curry jumped into Korver after Korver went up for the shot block was a bad call.

That's a nonsense call that hey need to stop making.

Those other touch fouls were bad calls too but they had a purpose.

The series was getting chippy and the refs put the players on notice in that first quarter.

Some top players had two quick fouls and had to be careful the rest of the way.

That set the tone.

The game was pretty good after that.

Though there was one play that was called a jump ball with pushing afterwards that lead to three players getting technicals on that one play.

But the game was pretty good.

The Warriors went up by 17 and then the Cavs clawed back and took the lead in the second half.

Then there were runs here and there.

And great athletic plays on both sides.

Lebron and Kyrie were great throughout the series.

Durant put his new team on his shoulders.

It was a pretty good show.

I am seriously hoping all the LeBron James haters out there shutup after this Finals. The dude AVERAGED A TRIPLE DOUBLE in the NBA Finals. Never been done before. Kyrie was amazing as well. They just had no help..at all.
