I agree
If the Breaking2 was such a big marketing effort, why are there no Breaking2 clothing items for sale?
I'd buy a Breaking2 t-shirt.

I don't think you have any idea what the cost of making another 10,000 units would be or whether the revenue earned would justify the cost incurred.
Adidas already sells the singlets and shorts (the new one with stripes is on their website), and why not? Its not like the Nike design you get in store are so much worse than the one the pro gets, the design just isn't anywhere near as cool. Cyclist does it, Adidas does it, soccer does it. How are you unable to see the oppertunities in selling the coolest kit they've made that year?
Also, sub 2 marathon stuff...holy sh*t it would sell. Very much so among hobby joggers too.
USA Track and Field has some official USA Team/Nike clothing available for sale online. Most of it is older product from 2012 or 2008.
Also check out Nike Oregon Project store.
There are advantages to Nike limiting the release of their current team/pro gear to only those who actually earn it by either making a national team and/or are sponsored by them.
But I agree they are missing a marketing opportunity to promote their gear, their athletes and the sport by not offering something similar for sale to the public.
Perhaps another reason why being a fan/spectator of running is not very popular.
I'd love to run in a USA Rio marathon jersey. Not in an actual race, but just out on my own for a long run, it'd feel pretty cool, pun intended.
They used to sell their top of the line athletics west wear and alberto salazar racing shorts and singlets back in the 80s. Not sure why they will not sell the "elite" clothing now to the masses, but I am sure it would sell like hotcakes. Maybe they do not want "regular" runners to have this attire as it is reserved only for the world class sponsored athletes. But who knows.
I have recently being looking everywhere online for the singlets Bekele/Mo wore at the Great North Run 2013. Would love to run in one of those as it's my favourite race.

I'm talking bout the singlets and shorts they market through top runners in DL etc. Whats the (terrible) marketing strategy behind this?
I bought two Olympic USA kits in high school from usa track and field back when I thought I was pro. So that kind of "elite" gear is out there.

oh, actual related question, do they sell the singlet Dibaba was wearing at London, I think I also saw it being worn by some at the last Diamond League - I really like it

Dibaba saw a reflection of her top and it made her sick.
I know this isn't exactly what you're looking for since the colours are a bit off, but those singlets the elite were wearing in London will probably never be up for sale, sorry. If you're in the EU, though, this may be somewhat up your alley: http://www.runningwarehouse.eu/Nike_Mens_Energy_Racing_Singlet/descpage-NMENRS.html
What if I told you that you can run just as fast in a shirt without the swoosh on it?
oh wow thank you for the lead on the "Energy Racing" pattern, nice
strange they don't make it for women, maybe they small would fit me
I actually like how it is NOT racerback so I won't get the sunburn pattern
$26, yikes, wonder how much without the Nike logo, lol
no to the swoosh wrote:

I will have to disagree.
I coach grade-school and middle school kids. The first thing they say to me is, "look at my new shoes, I am going to be so much faster/jump higher/throw further".
Usually, that practice, they give it their all.

It's the new racing kit for Nike athletes. Of course it should be exclusive to only Nike athletes. Nike doesn't profit off their racing shoes, so why should they sell clothing they wouldn't profit off either?
You guys are whack too for wanting to wear Team USA gear you didn't earn.

They're too expensive to make in small quantities and not enough people will buy them.
Hobbyjoggers wear those arm warmer things
People will buy any shite if its marketed and available

Its different to wear gear not connected to any nation. Why should we settle for less quality in running when every other sports sell the best clothing available?
$26. You want "yikes" see what USATF charges for the old, extra National Team gear they sell on their website.

Singlets from $80 to $187.50 that are "Official 2012" team gear. Shorts from $50 and up. Speed suits for over $200. I don't know why anyone would want to pay that much for a team uniform, especially for a team they were never on.
So what? Not an answer.

Yeah! Like the swoosh hijab that I still can't find!! I loathe Nike but I'm ready to pay for the hijab if I can find it. It has a very important purpose in life.
Nike will give you a swoosh hijab for free when you have your daughter's genitals mutilated.
In every other sport you can get shoes/jerseys of the players you like. I was watching the Oregon Twilight last week and thought Jock's singlet looked cool. On the OTC site you can't get it.
I remember Brooks put out singlets with their runners' names going down the backs a couple years ago. I'm not sure if they sold those but they should have. Nike Oregon Project should do that with Rupp. T&F is not marketed the way it should be. You can't be a fan of top runners when you can't get their gear or wear their name.
