Paula said she wants to see another attempt.
There's one other obvious candidate, but he just ran London.

Kipchoge is the man. I'll be sticking with the Saucony Ride, thank you very much.

Jesus, you guys need to realize that Kipchoge is probably doped up to the gills like Lance Armstrong is. There is no need to grandiose him with stuff you will regret in a few years. Heck, I could run sub-2 with the right drugs.
finally someone said it.

I think it's time for the other shoe companies to stop posting negative stuff here. This was amazing.

Kipsang is the only other one who should be tried ..period...He is the only man to run sub 2:04 4 times....Adidas has to try it, to me they have the better group of runners ....

Dude, I agree it was a bad tweet. Weldon deleted it. But hell my professional credibility was 25 seconds from being smashed. I 'd have to shut down the job and get a job. Your professional credibility would have been fine. One of the reasons I (and I would assume many others) really like your site is because you guys aren't afraid to give real opinions on things as opposed to just PC fluff like other sites. Realism like your prediction on the front page is good; You're allowed to be wrong sometimes, it doesn't hurt your credibility at all. The reaction to the result of the effort is what we all have a problem with...

Think he would have ran 2:02:05 in Berlin if it were held today.
I see a Sub 2:02 this fall in Berlin, he's certainly progressed during these 7 months !
Seriously, have fun. wrote:
The event is not about you.
So why is everyone so upset? In the end, I was correct on my main prediction. He wasn't going to break 2:00.00. And he didn't break 2:00:00.
If you asked me who was the greatest marathoner ever born - before this race - I would have said Eliud K and I'm still saying it.
The problem now is we have Shalane F asking when the next attempt is? So instead of having races are we going to have time trial after time trial for the next 10 - 15 years?
I already know that a human can cover 26.2 miles in sub -2 on a bike, running down a mountain, with a 30 mph tail wind. I want to see races.
Let me turn this on Shalane. Ok, instead of having the Boston marathon where she runs for the #1 dream in her life - Boston win - why don't we have Mary Keitany run time trial after time trial until she beats Paula R's record? I have little doubt that Mary would beat Paula's record under situations like this.
Actually, maybe this is good for the sport. I've always thought it was stupid that cars can't rabbit people. I think we should have time trials and races. I hate how ever DL race is set up as a time trial. Same thing with every flat marathon.

I'd love to see you try.

Good job making this about you.
Thank you for deleting the tweet. I guess I missed that your career was on the line. Next time bet in favor of it. We are fans of the sport amd hace so little to feel good about. Yes, not an offical world record but a step fprward for sure. Dont rob yourself of the opportunity to celebrate this.
And by the way, we do want you to be a bit of a cheerleader. Thank you for your site amd dedication to the sport

That deleted tweet "smashed" what little credibility you had left. Besides, you would've said the exact same things this week if the goal was to break 2:00:30.

Tongue in cheek as this seems to be, humor won't solve your problem, narcissist. You have a job, and you didn't do it.
Thank god your butler caught it before, like, 10,000 people on the internet saw it. Not. You took what could have been a celebration of something cool, regardless of NIKE and the conditions (I don't like either), and turned it into something about you.
F*ckoff, that's just not human.

Under legal conditions it's a 2:02 or 2:03. Calm down idiots.

Great question. According to runners world it is about 4 seconds per mile at their pace... So roughly 1:44. The full slipstream and controlled pace had to be worth 2-2:30 at a minimum. EK is a badass, but this makes it a little less of a shoe breakthrough. Sorry scientists.
http://www.runnersworld.com/sweat-science/does-drafting-help-in-runningExactly. They had more support than they do in races, but they still ran that fast for that long.
So what was Tadese's time ? 2:06 something ?
