Road 5K Before Flats (Oct. 2003): 18:29
Road 5K 9 months After Training in Flats (Sept. 2004): 17:51 (38 second improvement)
Also was able to run my first road 10K and 15K ever, 36:22 and 55:46, respectively. I had never been able to race further than 5K while training in trainers and/or orthotics because of being sidetracked by injuries (7 stress fractures, numerous other chronic injuries). I'm a female and am now training to get a qualifier for the 2008 Olympic Marathon Trials.
Just had a new 5K road PR this morning: 17:23, knocked 28 seconds off my previous PR
