Congrats to the Carnegie Mellon Men and the WashU Women for the Conference Titles, both were well earned.
Carnegie scored in every event except for the sprints and Long Jump but their performance in the throws and mid distance won the meet for them. As my fellow UAA Alum pointed out, if Carnegie was able to get some sprinters they would be tough to beat. It'll be interesting to see if Carnegie can keep the win outdoors as well.
The WashU women's team is so stacked. If they perform like they did this weekend, they should be NCAA champs.
When is the last time CMU had a Nationals-level runner? Ever?
WashU should take the Men's side, just too much depth. CMU would have to find points in the 5/10 or outperform in the throws. Alternatively I guess WashU could disappoint in the 1500 or PV.
Impressive how Case has improved their team, and it's a damn shame how bad Brandeis and NYU are. Brandeis is the smallest, so at least they have an excuse. NYU is bigger than CMU, WashU, and Chicago combined and they're just awful.
