A friend told me that it doesn't matter if some our hurt by affirmative action because it's for the good of the whole. Sure unless your the person who is hit by the reverse discrimination.
Sad, very sad.

Not true.
The Asian & Asian American demographic is heavily represented, if not actually all out dominant at Ivy's and especially in STEM majors at Ivys.
But guess what? The average SAT score for those not gaining acceptance at Harvard was higher than the average SAT of those accepted. They don't want just the best students, academically.
The Ivy's are private and endowed with Billion$.
They may take the best sculptor with a high SAT because they want to. Their choice, regardless if 20 others had better AP test scores.
They may want the best Inuit high jumper from Alaska if they determine so. Their choice.
No matter what, better have 1350 and 3.7 or higher at bare minimum and THEN be the "best" at something.
Straight As, perfect 1600, perfect APPROVAL test scores doesn't guaruntee you get in.
Don't dismiss the fact that the billions in endowment funds come from those legacy families funding the whole thing. They rightfully should get legacy consideration if their family's have given millions. It's not public money. (Except Cornell, but that doesn't count?)
