You are 100% clueless about how the distributes their limited resources for tax audits. Why do you think Trump and the Republicans severely cut the IRS auditing budget?
No, Trump would be a prime target as an audit could result in a huge amount of additional taxes. Less wealthy people aren't usually targets as the audits won't generate much bang for the buck.
I believe Trump when he says he gets audited every year.
auditing doesn't mean much, since the NYT found decades of fraud and cheating.
NYS is looking into it.
why would you believe a word trump says, anyway? Are you 12?

So, wouldn't you rather have Pence as president right now?
I would not mind Pence. But you can't remove a democratically elected president just because people don't like him.
No but you can open an investigation when a president fires the FBI director in order to close an ongoing probe concerning a foreign power meddling in the election. A previous president was investigated over a nothing burger real estate deal, so there is certainly a much stronger basis for this.
Sally Vix wrote:
You come up with these salacious scenarios but that is all they are, scenarios.
Come on.
It's not a salacious scenario out of thin air.
Cohen did send Trump's money to women right before the election and is going to jail for it.
And the Barr report did not address any money transfers. So we can still look at the sources of Trump's campaign donations. Foreign money is not a wild guess.
And he is hiding all of tax returns so we do not know how he treated his income and expenses.
We do know his campaign manager is going to jail for past tax fraud, so we see how easy it is for rich people to get away with tax fraud. And seeing the phony financial statements Trump provided to get credit or on Forbes list shows his comfort with finance fraud.
There are a lot of dots left to connect that are not settled.
It's not about not liking the guy or making up scenarios of what he could do to make his supporters revolt.
It's looking at the scenarios that we do know, and following the money to their conclusion.
The Barr report did not deal with anything money related.

If Bernie Sanders or Beto O'Rourke won the election in 2020, I would certainly not be celebrating but America has always had a dutiful transition from one president to the next, even when half the electorate really despises the winning candidate. I am no John Meacham but the transition has always been smooth and the winning candidate has always been accepted by the losing side. That was UNTIL donald trump won and the left decided to reverse the election. We can't have that. No matter how much you despise the winner, you have to abide by the American system and consider that person the true president.
That's patently absurd.
The right never accepted Obama as president.
Look at the birther movement, saying Obama wasn't really the president.
Look at Mitch McConnell. Instead of accepting him as president and working for the good of the country, McConnell decided that his only priority was to take him down.
We could go on and on.
Yeah, there was one guy really pushing the birther movement and not accepting Obama as president.
I can't remember who that was ...
That Jussie guy is not charged with anything.
Trump is cutting off insurance for millions.
And the Mueller report is analyzed by some partisan guy worse than the "liberal media" reports about it before it was released.
Not a whole lot of WINNING going on right now for the "president."
You are right that many on the right did not accept him. But the one big difference is the right didn't try to remove him from office with unsubstantiated accusations. They never did that. The never worked in concert with Fox News and the other conservative media outlets (the few that there are) to bring down Obama. They really did not like Obama but they allowed him to be president.
First, you do not know whether he is really a billionaire. That is only what he told us and if you haven’t noticed he lies every time he opens his mouth. Believe it if you want.
Second, it’s not about a few million. Depending on the tax positions you take the bottom line impact can add up to tens of millions over a longer time frame for someone with a very high net worth. When it comes to the ultra wealthy it’s not about a math error in the return (whether intentional or not), it’s about the validity of the positions you take. So yeah, for a guy like Trump who used the cheapest material to build his most prized 5th ave tea estate I do expect he’d want to cheat on just about anything the entitled bast@rd could.

When you claim Obama is the IRS I think you don’t deserve a response.

Trump is POTUS so he’s legally above the law while in office. Why then would he have produced shady/fraudulent tax returns to prevent himself from being elected? He’s not even close to being as rich as he claims and given all the fcks all around him and all his legal problems there is a very strong chance there is suspicious activity on his returns. He knows that. Trumpers can give him a pass for being unethical, but let’s call it for what it is.
He is not above the law. If he commits a high crime or misdemeanor that the Congress deems merits his impeachment and removal from office, then he or she is gone. He is never above the law.
In practice yes he is. Are you disagreeing with Trump’s DOJ?

oh please. There was and is smoke billowing out of the WH on Russia and other things. Republicans decided to appoint a republican special counsel to look into them. There was and is nothing improper about all these investigations. Trump brought them upon himself and he deserved them. Note the dozens of indictments, guilty pleadings and convictions stemming from the investigations so far.
AND WE DON'T HAVE THE MUELLER REPORT YET.

That was really nice of the Republicans and Fox to allow Obama to be president.
Do you really think that the accusations that Trump directed funds to pay off women before the election to help with his campaign are unsubstantiated ?

I seem to remember Dems saying the 2018 polls were correct and that the Dems would win the midterms. But UBU, troll.
The House fails to override Trump's veto on his national emergency to direct funds to build wall.
That sets a precedent for Bernie Sanders to redirect military funds to expand Medicare for all when he is president.

Depreciation.
And operating expenses.
In regard to taxes, depreciation is not a decline in value. You can depreciate the cost of the property, but not the land, over 20 years or so, but that is always done and not cheating in anyway. When the property is sold, taxes are paid on the difference between the sale proceeds and the depreciated cost basis.
Yeah, operating expenses are deductible. Duh.

the weird thing about sally is that she seems sincere and not a troll, but she is factually messed up on so many things. I don't think she writes stupid things to own the libs. But she gets so many facts wrong.
Which is different from a poster like Rigged who is just hateful and willfully lies and shouts because his goal is to own the libs and little else.
She's on odd one.

There were plenty of members of congress who called for the impeachment of Obama and they used unsubstantiated allegations to do it.
It was Republicans in the FBI who started a very legitimate counter-intelligence investigation which uncovered how Russia interfered with the 2016 election. The goal of this investigation was never to drive Tiny from office. Tiny got caught in the middle because members of his campaign did have meetings with Russians about their efforts to help Tiny win.
You are forgetting that the conclusion of the Mueller report is that Russia did indeed seek to help Tiny win. They just decided that Tiny could not be criminally prosecuted.
The Mueller investigation itself was not only legitimate, it was extremely important to our nation.
